The latest crisis, oh just wait for PMQ’s tomorrow.

A cunting for the latest fuck up surrounding No.10, notice I haven’t said Boris because much of this ‘Partygate’ is driven by the civil service however all the shit will inevitably fall on Boris.
Now I am not defending Boris and in my opinion this will be the end for him but in May 2020 how was Boris, was he firing on all cylinders having be hit quite badly by Covid.
All the focus is usually on politicians but the civil service deserves special mention, what fucking idiot would send an email (allegedly) inviting everybody to come to a little party in the garden of No.10 when the entire country was in full lockdown, the permanent Private secretary to Boris is the answer.

Why has it taken a year and a half for this story to break, is it Russian interference, who is the whistleblower, regardless of the wrongs of the alleged incident is there something rotten in the state of Denmark!

The Africa Cup of Nations

Does any football fan give a fuck about this competition? Of course not because it´s irrelevant. It´s a joke to call it African as practically every player plays in Europe.

However, that does not stop the BBC Sport making whines about the lack of interest a lead sport story. Former England and Arsenal striker Ian Wright claims the competition is being “disrespected” by some negative media coverage.

The Beeb also reports that Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira is among those to also call for the tournament to be given more respect. Sure enough he raises the race card. “There is no greater honour than representing your country. The coverage is completely tinged with racism.”

This pathetic event starts on January 9 and we can expect non-stop coverage of thrillers such as Cameroon and Burkina Faso, Comoros and Gabon and my favourite Ethiopia and Cabo Verde (Cape Verde). I thought Ethiopia was in the middle of a civil war and nobody lives in Cabo Verde as they have all emigrated.

I tried to find a video link of the international game in which the (European) manager of an African team was so disgusted by the refereeing that he threw money at the ref who had been bribed. I could not find it but check this one instead.

The Old Bill (Police [5])

I’ve always been a law-abiding citizen. In seven decades on this mortal coil, my dealings with HM Constabulary consist of reporting the burglary of my house and my car being broken into, and witnessing a traffic accident. The behaviour of the police on these occasions was impeccable, and it’s no real surprise then that I’ve always subscribed to the ‘aren’t our police wonderful?’ school of thought.

Just lately however, I’m starting to have, shall we say, reservations about our police. Naturally we’ve all witnessed the ineptitude of the likes of Cressida Dickhead, and the vileness of Wayne Couzens;

But there also seems to be a relentless drip drip of stories relating to police incompetence, corruption and brutality. Here are just a few examples;

You get my drift. I recall the days of blue-uniformed George Dixon types patrolling the streets; many men and women who, I’m sure, did a really tough job honorably. No doubt there are many of their ilk still around, but there does seem to be an increasing reek of bad eggs about. I don’t know, maybe it’s just the relentless nature of the meeja these days, and that rotten underbelly has always been there.

Anyway, I sense with unease a growing disconnect between the police and the public, the opening up of a real ‘us and them’ divide which places the very principle of ‘policing by consent’ under threat. It’s a dichotomy; we NEED the police, but increasingly, it’s hard toTRUST them, and unfortunately, a lot of the responsibility for this can be laid at the door of the police themselves.

Oh, and they always used to say ‘if you want to know the time, ask a policeman’. I’d suggest that if you do, it might be wise to avoid these two likely lads;

Just one sad example among many of an everyday, casual, disdainful assumption of authority, leading to an unlawful abuse of police power against a citizen committing no offence. They do it because they think they can get away with it, and that’s a cunt.
