Fuck me! Ms Doucet’s (no surprises she isn’t married — has a face like a fucking welder’s bench) voice can only be described as a cross between a young bleating sheep and a robotic fucking rain man. If I could’ve reached into the the screen, I would’ve, and slapped the bitch with great force. A no talent empty vessel if ever there was one. Get to fuck, Lyse fucking Doucet!

Globe Theatre’s Romeo and Juliet (2021)

The Globe are staging Romeo and Juliet with a new twist this autumn, described as a “radical reinterpretation”. The Globe’s promotional literature will give you an idea of their approach – “Verona is sick.

Its structures broken and its citizens in a state of desperation. When a system favours the few, the many are left with nothing but unhealthy choices.” Yes, forget the New Oxford Shakespeare (which you might have read at school) this is the New Woke Shakespeare (which might be sponsored by BLM).

Romeo and Juliet are dark-keys in this version and its about teenage angst, suicide and the alleged failure of Society to accommodate young, specifically dark-key, people. In this version the Capulets and the Montagues are crazy drug overlords. There will be drugs and armed gang fights.

Behind the star struck lovers a screen will project facts and statistics about crime and mental health. In the words of one critic (Celia Walden in The Telegraph), this production reduces Shakespeare to “pshycobabble”.

Why does the Globe have to do this? They are meant to preserve Shakespeare’s heritage not traduce it.

This striving for contemporary relevance in order to reflect woke preoccupations lessens the relevance of Shakespeare. The great thing about good literature is that each generation can interpret it freely according to their own understanding.

The freedom to do this rests with the reader and does not have to be forced on us by woke directors using cheap gimmicks. You may chose to see Romeo and Juliet as a parable of modern social decay or you may chose to view it as a parable of love doomed by familial hostility.

The choice should be that of the reader. That’s what Shakespeare intended and to force a woke message into his work is the same as to say “I know better than the author and better than you….I’m smarter than Shakespeare and smarter than you”.

As the Bard himself put it – “cunting is such sweet sorrow”. Or perhaps more apt – ‘How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to have a thankless child!’

Went to Hollywood thinking he was the next Peter Sellers. That worked out well didn’t it Steve.

And another nomination for a Beeb acolyte. Steve Coogan and his tiresome cashcow, Alan Partridge.

Saw some of the latest series of ‘This Time With Alan Partridge’. And, as expected, it was unfunny woke BBC drivel of the highest order. Maybe Partridge was funny two decades ago, when he was a social misfit and an ambitious but inept broadcaster.

Now he’s just an old character who has been done to death and is doing the BBC’s bidding. Not that old characters can’t be funny (Alf Garnett, Albert Steptoe, Grandad Trotter), but shoehorning someone who was once an awkward and tactless character into the sanitised woke era (and especially on the BBC) is cringeworthy.

Partridge has gone from being an odd and unusual man alone (The early travel tavern series) to the epitome of the white English gammon oaf. He is now Alan Partridge in name only.

Now, he is just a vehicle to spread the word that all white middle aged English men are ignorant, racist, sexist, offensive and Brexit voting idiots. Coogan himself has more or less admitted to this, and of course this is encouraged by the BBC.

There are many woke moments in the show (bolshy women and all that). But the scene (Series 2 Episode 6) where Alan has to explain away old photos of himself blacked/browned up is the gruesome nadir of this woke propaganda.

The whole scene is engineered simply so they can say ‘Black Lives Matter’ at the end of it. Doctor Who and Countryfile spreading BLM propaganda is bad enough. But now even comedy has to have the BLM anti-white ‘message’, and Coogan and his creation are helping it along. From once genuinely innovative and funny character to woke BBC lackey. Alan Gordon Partridge RIP (Coogan you cunt).

Well you tolerate things you don’t like, don’t you? Like a headache. Or the Emma Freuds. Or your boss making you work late. Your wife going off on one. A baby screaming and shitting for hours on a long haul flight. The peaceful with BO at work. The effects of a pandemic. Dickheads on the road.

These are a things I’ve had to tolerate. If I didn’t, I’d be inside for being a serial killer.

It seems that this woke shite they’re pushing can’t be a strength if it all needs tolerating too.
