Generation Zero and WfH

I took a bit of a battering during the holidays from younger family members. I’m going to group the millennials together with Gen Z and Y as I don’t really know how to recognise which is which and because they all seem to believe in the carbon zero myth.

Anyway, I was watching an old episode of Fifth Gear where Tiff and Jason were racing two top of the range (in 2005) sports cars. An innocent pleasure as I hope you agree but I was chastened by GZ: “That’s all ancient history now. EVs are faster, cleaner, better.” Talk about raining on my parade. Now I can argue my corner with the best. Do me a favour, I replied, EVs are as soulless as domestic appliances. No, they are the future said GZ.

Interestingly, none of these GZs have actually embraced modern technology, they all run combustion cars. And why is this? Well, they are neither affordable nor practical and not even truly green and I told ’em so. The smug sods.

Incidentally, to my mind the Fifth Gear team are all turncoats. Former petrol heads transformed into airheads, they now front Fifth Gear Recharged. Pretending everything about EVs is great and ignoring, even deploring ICEs. Journalists are fickle aren’t they? The worst culprit though is Quentin Wilson, formerly of Top Gear who is now the biggest apologist for the electric revolution.

GZ are also in favour of driverless cars (God help us). Probably as they are too lazy to actually drive these days. To me, just sitting there watching the road while the car does everything is like taking the bus. I’m not convinced they are safe. My mate has a brand new MG EV. It has EU-dictated “safety” features. He was driving along a street when a pedestrian put one foot in the road. My mate made eye contact with the walker and there was no danger yet the automated emergency stop cut in and the car slammed the brakes on. The van behind smacked into his bumper. Another time the car also swung violently to the right when it thought it was veering out of lane.

Finally, we discussed AI. They are all for it. It’s the future you see and thus inevitable, not worth debating. GZ can’t wait to hand over control to automation. After all, humans have messed up the planet so let’s give machines a chance. Apparently, it hasn’t occurred to GZ that the robots may decide that as humans are to blame, it might be best to get rid of us all.

Then they really would be Generation Zero.

And on a very similar theme there’s this from Jeezum Priest

Gen-Z and WFH.

In a survey commissioned by Westleigh Roeca, director of business development for Lifesum ( no, me neither) found that over half 18 – 42 year old said they would turn down a job if they couldn’t mostly work from home.

Express News

Apparently, many of the 5000 polled started their careers (ha!) during the pandemic.

Debbie Porter, MD of Destination Digital Marketing says that in the last two years, University Graduates have requested 100% WFH, with some refusing to attend an in-person interview.

Ms. Porter says none of those applicants got very far, so good on her!

Hurry up, folks, the DWP sound like they’re recruiting, they might be willing to buy into this bullshit.

A little something about Westleigh Roeca, of Lifesum.

Britain Goes to War

Seems that the UK and US gave a can of whoopass to those Yemen Houthis terrorists in the Red Sea.

The justification was to stop these cunts from attacking cargo ships and military vessels, which of course is affecting international trade among other things.

These attacks by the Houthis have been going on for some time, and despite warnings they still persist … up until last night that is.

Inevitably the Iranian sponsored Houthis and their leader,Mohammed Al DirtyBollocks, along with Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, have sworn that both the UK and US will face retaliatory strikes “close to home!”

Typically, Russia and China have denounced the air strikes and are demanding talks with the UN Security Council.

Protestors in the US and UK are already on the streets also denouncing the bombings on Yemen “military” targets, but instead the raids are killing thousands of innocent Yemeni civilians, and that the air strikes were at the behest of Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu!

Although the attacks on cargo vessels is not directly linked to what is going on further north in Israel/Gaza, it is blatantly obvious that both terrorist groups (Hezbollah and Houthis) are in cahoots with Hamas and are backed by Iran and one or two other Arab countries in the Middle East.

Perhaps this was Hamas’ plan all along when it massacred 1200 Jews on 7th October – to eventually get the West militarily involved sooner or later. And by getting the Houthis  to attack cargo ships in Yemeni waters, it has certainly achieved that.

What happens next is anyone’s business. But yet again the UK finds itself at war, even though we can barely defend our own shores, along with our 3 armed services short of manpower and hardware.

I don’t know why prime ministers think we’re still a global force, because we’re not. Moreover I don’t see much military support from our western European colleagues. What I can expect is various cities in the UK becoming targets by the flotsam and jetsam washed up on our beaches and sitting comfortably in our hotels!

The Humourless Woke

The left wing establishment and their predictable reaction to a comedian telling jokes.

What a bunch of joyless, humourless cunts the left wing establishment are.

The left claim to not be the establishment, although it’s blindingly obvious that they are. But that’s a cunting for another day.

Ricky Gervais has recently made another stand up show for Netflix where he has had another pop at the prevailing woke narrative.

Last year it was the alphabet people.
This time it’s the dinghy divers and Saint Gary of Lineker who have been the target of his observations.

YouTube

Predictably – the MSM have accused him of being “lazy” and “punching down” and his show not being funny blah blah fucking blah.

The Indie

Bless them and their delicate little feelings. Proof that the uncomfortable truth, disguised as a joke -is literally kryptonite to these disingenuous arseholes.

How dare a comedian make jokes to an audience who have paid to watch him, about a subject matter that is so depressingly fucking obvious to the vast majority of the inhabitants of these islands.

Maybe next year Ricky should record a Netflix special where he gets stuck into Nigel Farage, Donald Trump and Brexit.

That would definitely give the establishment something to all collectively laugh into their lattes about and miraculously gain him rave reviews from the likes of the (not so) Independent and Guardian.

Unfortunately for the wokeys, Gervais is too successful and famous to be cancelled plus he doesn’t give a fuck who he offends. Good.

Chris Skidmore

is a cunt.

Having already announced he won’t be standing at the next GE the fucking big girl has decided he is quitting as soon as possible.

The poor dear is so upset that the government has actually shown some fucking backbone for a change and is granting new oils and gas licences in the North Sea.

Here is the tarts quote from the attached article

“We can not expect other countries to phase out their fossil fuels when at the same time we continue to issue new licences or to open new oil fields.
“It is a tragedy that the UK has been allowed to lose its climate leadership, at a time when our businesses, industries, universities and civil society organisations are providing first-class leadership and expertise to so many across the world,” he added.

Wanker.

Issuing licences, if they are taken up, will give tax revenue to the UK regardless of whether it’s used in UK.

On a side note, the UK is currently at its lowest level of nuclear capacity in decades, with no coal to fall back on if the wind drops to zero for a sustained period and we get to minus temperature numbers the gas turbines may not be enough, looking forward to power cuts

Airport Car Parking Charges

Over the years I have been lucky enough to get away abroad a couple of times a year often more. Even when I had kids to pay for and because I was a teacher for 25 years during the school holidays when they were EXPENSIVE.

A ruse I worked out even back in the early 1990’s was to take the numbers of hotels when over there and ring them up and book for next time. This and bucket shop airplane seats did save me some serious dosh.

Another ruse I have used though takes a bit of time is to use google Spanish pages a Spanish IP address and find hotels I knew and look to pay the prices that the Spanish themselves pay which is bloody less that we or the Germans do.

Back to my cunting one thing I can’t seem to overcome is the ridiculous prices asked for to park your fucking car a couple of miles away from the terminal building. These keep on rising. £135 to park at Luton (hate the place but good flight times prices) last September for a week, pre the electric car burning the short stay car park down.

I thought about finding a hotel near by to stay the night before and leave the car in their car park. Very few offer this and at prices ranging from £290-500+ they can fuck off. Now get this loads of airports have hotels by them but loads offer nowhere to park the car even for an over night stay. WTF is that all about.

Anyway many scams have started to crop up regarding airport parking. Meet and greet by Abdul, Dave and other assorted cunts where you take your car to an office, my arse, some cunts house they drive you in it to the airport and use your car as a mini cab for a week, or hire it out. Avoid these cunts at all costs.

Now I don’t expect to park for free, though it would be nice, but the prices that are being charged nowadays is a cunt..
