Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.
People have known about this nut case syndrome for many years, but doctors still don’t carry out enough tests to determine if a patient is really ill.
They just take the word of the parent involved.
To perform surgery on the child without making sure that surgery is really necessary is dereliction of duty by the doctors involved.
As is prescribing medication.
Although this is an extreme case, I think that millions of kids are being treated for conditions that are just a fantasy of their parents.
Behavioural disorders, alargies and intolerances.
Medication must be costing billions every year and I reckon that most of the time it’s unnecessary.
The woman in the story is a nutter but the doctors should have realised that quickly and treated her instead of her kid.
Locking her up might be satisfying, but she really needs treatment for her mental condition.

What the fuck were they playing at?
As a child I started to have problems swallowing food.
I ended up in Great Ormond Street hospital where I was given some horrible tasting substance (Barium?) on an empty stomach.
I was then put on a table an x-rayed.
The table was moved in all different positions and I was diagnosed as having a minor infection.
A course of tablets cleared it up.
That was 60 year’s ago.
How today’s modern day doctors can perform a surgery by inserting a feeding tube baffles me.
