My cancer journey

is a cunt.

Except it’s not. It’s an out of control 120mph headlong dash towards a solid brick wall, and the brakes have failed.

How I loath the z Listers, who pimp theirselves for views, and when you read the shit they spew, it’s a mole that has been successfully removed.

In February, my lovey Bengal cat, Dexter, started snorting gung, after spending a fucking fortune, it turned out he had an inoperable tumour in his nasal cavity. I had him put to sleep, and I hope he can forgive me for all the prodding and poking he endured.

In March, I started to bloat in my abdomen. I went to the doctor, who sent me for blood tests. Two days later I got the results.
Terminal cancer with less than 12 months.

I’ve been hospitalised twice, once for a temporary drain and I spent my 72nd birthday having a permanent plural drain fitted.

I’m having chemo every four weeks, because it makes me more comfortable. It’s stopped the fluid build up, which is great.

I can live at home, have a shower and put clean clothes on. I need minimal help.
Lately, I’ve been getting pain, the morphine helps, but I long for a decent nights sleep.

Anyway, enough about me, but if I stop posting you know what’s happened.

  1. Shit I am sorry to hear this, I don’t often post I know. however I am here every day feeling like I’m not alone in my hate for the fucked up stuff we endure. I genuinely wish you well. My dad has cancer and it’s a big part of our lives. Bloody awful business!

  2. My best wishes to you, Jeezum. Getting on and bits of our bodies failing is an absolute pisser.

Well, I’ll say this now… You’re a good old boy and a top cunter. I hope hope you will be with us for a good while yet.

  3. Watched my old neighbour go from spiritedly & healthy to pain wracked & wishing for the end in just over a year with cancer. It’s a complete cunt.

Vets are always keen to get at the insurance & I steadfastly refuse to let them do unnecessary stuff – we had a dog who had a cancerous growth on his leg that was going to lead to unavoidable secondaries in his lungs. Fucking vet wanted to MRI him and operate on the leg etc, etc. I told him to fuck off, so we had another six months with the lad & saw him off in comfort – went to sleep with his head on my lap. I rarely cry, but… (soft cunt!)

JP, cancer IS a fucking cunt & I’m sorry to hear you have it. Dig in & fight hard to enjoy what time you have left.

  4. As a sufferer for 4 years, all I can say is hang in there. I have already lived longer than forecast, so don’t stop hoping.
My thoughts and prayers are with you JP.
    Best wishes

    Big Al

    • Indeed.

If you believe in God you have to conclude that He is a sadistic old prevert who gets His rocks off watching humanity and the rest of His creation suffer horribly.

No amount of religious mumbo jumbo will alter that fact.

  5. So sorry to hear this too, sending best wishes and strength to you and your family. I always enjoy your contributions on here 🙏
