Accusations of “Trolling”

It seems that whenever there is a particularly divisive subject, we get the accusation of “trolling”. I can’t see that it is “trolling” to have a viewpoint and be willing to express it.
It seems to me that sometimes people just can’t accept or even live with the fact that not everyone agrees with them…endless reams of justification of their point with the odd little dig thrown in to try and elicit a response…what comes if they still don’t brow-beat their “foe” into submission…a “Cunt’s Corner” style meltdown perhaps?

I admit that I sometimes post a reply with the intention of stirring things up a bit…and maybe occasionally getting people to consider that there maybe is another side to the argument that may be worth considering. Maybe I’m the “troll” rather than someone who just puts an alternative view without particularly looking to stir things up?

Worrying about someone getting too many “tickies” indeed…Ffs.

From my point of view the difference is that debate is fine but baiting is trolling. You can make a point without name calling and insults…

  1. Here’s one for the Lt Col. Peût être a mite above his “pay-grade”, but highly salient nonetheless. Think about it, meine Jungs!

[what a can of worms; you’ve unleashed a Pandora’s box here chaps 73s to Dio]

  2. From what I’ve seen on this wonderful site over the years, the most recent discussions aren’t anywhere near trolling. There have been some epic trolls in my time here: like that arsehole ‘Dark Web Dave’ and the infamous Ricardo Doubledildo. But the recent debates over Trump and Biden are just healthy push and shove discussion. It’s all about opinions and people will agree to disagree on occasion. The trolls I remember on here were poisonous self mythologising shit stirring little bastards, and I know there are some people in life that you disagree with at your peril (like my ex and her mother). But I don’t think anyone here currently fits that bill. Certainly no ISAC regulars, anyway.

The word ‘Troll’ has now become a bit overused. Like ‘Hater’ was a while ago. Like anyone who says the woke Femstapo lezza Doctor Who Jodie Whittakunt is not very good (i.e: crap) they were automatically described as a ‘hater’. Anyone who didn’t like something was labeled a ‘hater’.

  3. I’m a long time reader / relatively new poster.
What pushed me into finally posting?
2020: a year of global cuntishness on a scale I have never before experienced.

Even though I am a new boy here, I already feel protective of this site and the freedom to vent, engage in gentle piss-taking and be nostalgic for what feels now, like a much less complicated past.

Having said all that, bring a new member does not make your contributions less valid. Introducing new blood, thoughts and differing views can only ever be a good thing for healthy debate.

I am probably one of the busy posters, alluded to in JE Cuntley’s posts-I didn’t know there was a personal limit? Surely that is a form of censorship, so commonly cunted by this esteemed board.
I enjoy conversing with certain members-they “get me” and I “get them”. No sycophantic behaviour here-just wonderful fucking banter.😀

Think of IsAC as a virtual pub:

-some of you more intellectual types will be happy playing dominoes, chess or sitting by the fire in “your” chair, sipping a G&T, whilst completing the Times crossword.

-some will be meeting old friends, in the lounge bar, muttering about “standards” dropping recently, having a relatively quiet drink

-some will be popping in for a swift pint, on the way home to work

-some will stick their head through the door, have a quick reccy, decide it’s not there place and seek alternative drinking premises

-finally, some of just what to be in the public bar, having a fucking good laugh and trying to forget our worries 👍

2020 has been a fucker-for the first time in four decades of working stupid hours (80+ hrs/week), I find myself with time on my hands and IsAC helps fill that time😀
Now you cunts, where are my fucking tickles?😂

    Re trolling:
Sometimes words are bandied incorrectly-don’t like someone who happens to be different? Then you must be an “ist” of some description.
I think Troll is being used similarly, lately.

Come on chaps-agree to disagree 🤝

-surely that eclectic mixtyre of patrons is what gives the best establishments, the atmosphere that draws us in?

  5. I’m sort of new to IsaC, but I find that I much prefer when we use our cuntings to cunt on those arseholes outside of our group. I had assumed we had thick skins and that we all are sometimes a cunt, but probably not enough of a cunt to receive noms.

  6. Hi CG…
I’d never suggest what people can post or how many times they post but sometimes it’s just insults, oven, gas them, boil them in piss, shit like that.
I like this site and now consider myself part of the furniture. I’ve learnt stuff on here, had my opinion changed and now even have some Beefheart on a playlist because of Ruff.
I’m not suggesting what people should post because I’m nowhere near as smart as some of the posters on here.
Have a good day my friend….

    • I wasn’t offended by your comment, excellent fellow. Just giving an alternate view.
Which tallies perfectly with the origins of this thread🙂.

I think the “oven” type references are a comic shorthand-something or someone being so cuntish that they deserve IsAC’s final solution.
Offensive to some? Unfortunately, probably-so much of our language is being vetted and “revised” because if the permanently offended, this place is becoming a last refuge…

I have Jewish friends, had sexual adventures with Jewish women, been fucked over financially by Jewish acquaintances-as has happened with practically every race and creed, in my own personal experiences.
      I deplore anti-semitism.

As I have said before: I believe there are two types of people in life-people who are ok and cunts.
      I cunt, cunts👍

  7. Doh!
I missed out the most important part (to me) of the pub analogy:

Variety being the spice of life.
Or as an old mate , a retired DCI who was also Welsh and Gay (enough there for a month of cuntings😉), used to say:

“It’s all part of life’s rich tapestry mate😀”.

Also I have huge hands and a small , antique phone☹️
Keyboard on desktop behaving like an epileptic in a strobe light testing facility 👎
However-postman pat just delivered what I hope is a new keyboard so expect an orgy of banal postings, lots of links👍 and lashings if tickies!!
    ✔️✔️✔️😀👍

  8. We can agree to disagree. As Abraham Lincoln said in Bill & Ted’s excellent Adventure ; “Be excellent to one another”

Peace & Goodwill to you all
