Danny George Quinn and son Danny Jo knocked on the door of a 90 year old man in March 2025, offering to fix some cracked roof tiles. Over the next three months, they returned more than 10 times, claiming extra work was needed and asking for cash payments.
In June, the vile duo demanded a further £2.5k and drove their victim to his bank to withdraw it. The bank teller, seeing the previous withdrawals ( and there being only £24 in the account ) contacted the police and invoked the BP.
The police attended and investigated, and as a result on the 30th July the father got 40 months inside ( out in just over a year because overcrowding, innit ) and the son 9months YO suspended with community service ( yeah, right! ).
Dreadful though this story is, it’s all too familiar, so here’s the cunting.
The Banking Protocol is a scheme were bank and Post Office staff are trained to spot unusual activity that may indicate someone is the victim of a fraud.
Before anyone gives the bank a pat on the back though, let’s consider that it took them three months to ” notice “, and then only when the poor old lad tried to withdraw funds he no longer had.
So fuck off, with your Banking Protocol, you useless cunts.
For the cherry on the icing of the cake, a special mention to the old boys son, who described his father’s “confusion which is obvious to anyone who talks to him for any length of time”

To be fair to the banks, they do do quite well with throwing obstacles in your way when making electronic payments; it’s entirely understandable when deals with simpletons who are just dying to give their money to scamming ding-dings then blaming the banks when they get fleeced.
