Most of the huge oil tankers used a route through which there is now a war zone.
But it may be a little inconvenient to use an alternative route, and a little more expensive, it doesn’t justify a huge price hike in petrol, or most other things.
Diesel prices at the pumps here went from about €1.30 to around €1.80 when the shit first hit the fan.
This was reduced almost immediately when IVA (VAT) was cut from 21% to 10%.
The price is still being reduced daily, probably because the oil tankers are now adapting to other routes and is now about 15 céntimos higher than pre-war.
No other commodities seem to be affected.
If you are to be paying £9 a pint in the coming months, like I have heard.
Then that is more than double of what I paid just last night.
