and it’s a cunt.
Phil Riley, the council’s Labour leader, previously said the council would “rather the money went on delivering services people want than on an election which would have to be repeated just a year later and on different ward boundaries”.
On the whole, its just another excuse (after excuse) saying that they don’t have the funds for a local election (that they will loose) partially because they are spending our money on the unwashed masses.
This is democracy? somehow I don’t think so.
Where as Lib Dem Cheltenham borough council said the decision to postpone its election was “the right one” ( due to lack of funding).
However, just a few months ago, it was revealed that the local authority had spent hundreds of thousands of pounds in taxpayer cash on gagging orders over two years, up to and including 2024/25.
A freedom of information response obtained last year revealed that £782,468 had been paid in association with 25 non-disclosure agreements signed by the council.
I think they could have afforded that election, and that’s a lot of hush money.
your thoughts please?
Nominated by Lord Benny.

It is the eternal irony of Communists wanting to participate in democratic elections.
19
Another irony is the Marxist open border policy for workers. Except the majority coming in are arriving to ponce rather than be working proletariat.
10
The average illegal immigrant costs to the British taxpayer is between £250,000 and £400,000 for the duration of their stay. I was trying to work out the cost of the number since Starmer became Prime Minister and my calculator ran out of digits.
I am pleased the decision to cancel the council elections has been reversed, well done the Daily Telegraph and Reform for the campaign against the denial of democracy. The problem is the day after the council elections Starmer is likely to resign and we are likely to have someone even further to the left. God help us all.
Good Morning.
12
The councils will find the money to paint the towns and put up pride flags when the time comes.
They will have the money available to install toilets for transexuals and to promote their deviances.
For the council tax payers of these towns the answer is simple and obvious.
Stop paying the cunts.
Withold your council tax.
19
Years ago Arty, an elderly woman in Devon declared she would not pay the increase in the rates being levied. She was a tough old bird who was featured in the national news preparing for going to jail. At the last possible moment an “anonymous” donor paid her bill and she wasn’t sent down. I’d bet the house to a pinch of shit that the donor was a member of the party in power in the local authority.
16
There is no accountability Arfur.
I imagine that it would be extremely difficult to find out exactly how much these councils get.
It’s not just the council tax that they receive, it will also be government funding, parking fees and fines that they have levied on their long suffering constituents, etc….
I shouldn’t think that anyone in the councils have a fucking clue just how much money they are raking in.
And nobody really knows where all the money is going.
How much is being spent on diversity courses and free trade coffee available at their non-binary book clubs?
No fucker knows and as no itemised accounts are available to the public, nobody cares.
Councils just give away money.
There was the Pákí mayor of Tower Hamlets (a part of London that already has a mayor in Khan, but might as well invent a new job for a fellow Pákí), he was giving away untold thousands of pounds to various Muslim groups, some of which never asked for it.
If any council tax payer were to see exactly what their hard earned money was being wasted on, they would stop paying immediately.

Nottingham City Council has finally been taken out of special measures which it found itself in due owing to a series of reckless decisions including the Robin Hood Electricity fiasco. Incredibly , some Labour twat claimed it was a tribute to wise decisions made by the council; it was the central government imposed accountants (who each cost £1,000 a day) who were pulling the strings.
The latest wheeze of Nottingham Council is that the city limits should be expanded to include the leafy suburbs. In the city 80% of houses are in council tax A and B , the suburbs are largely In bands C,D and E.
Any ideas why?
11
Far from a new wheeze Guzzi. In 1974 Birmingham took over Sutton Coldfield. Sutton has 1/8 of the population of Brum and pays in 1/3 of the total council tax raised. When I was on the PTA at a school in Sutton we asked the council what financial support they would give us. Two word answer; “Minimum legal.”

Well its a bit late, Farage (my mate, marmite) Went to take HMG to court and they all backed down, so local elections will go ahead.
Although not Government this will be a massive head turn for Starmer’s puppet popularity.
Yet again I find that the Government and local council concentrates on minority issues, partly perhaps it is because these minorities get off their fucking arses and vote for what they want and don’t sit at home complaining about how shit things are.
Again my anger dwells upon lazy white people who have facilitated this slide.
https://youtube.com/shorts/K99P5LKrva0?si=DXMUyuFSUb_iUbO-
I think Jimmy puts forward a very well balanced and objective point in this.
8
When the choice was between a red rosette and a blue one, with the wearers of both being equally corrupt and useless, then there was little point in voting Benny.
Personally I think that Farage is full of piss and hot air and has no chance of achieving anything meaningful.
But putting his party into the mix may prompt more people to show up and vote.
11
Well when he ran UKIP he got the job done 😉( later to be sabotaged by those blue and red rosettes)
He also likes Dogs, pints and fags so that is a further 3 boxes ticked in my book.
As I said Marmite, either love him or hate him and the other choices seem to be dogshit and poison.
11
A valid point Arty, not worth voting if the choice is red or blue, two cheeks of the same arse. However if Farage in the mix causes people to turn out and vote that’s a good thing. To say he can’t or won’t change things, well all we have to go on is his achievement in getting us out of the EU. I think the best reason to vote for him though is that the folks who for so long have been accustomed to holding power are terrified of him.
7
I tend to agree Art, but shal give them my vote as being the least worse.
3
Farage is just keeping the seat warm for the Great Leader who will actually tackle the country’s problems.
How long we have to wait is the question. unlike the government, we need to stay the course and not be sidetracked by little tidbits thrown out by any government.
when it stops working, we riot. Only way to get the message across.
10
Too skint to run a democracy?
That’s a new one.
And now that excuse has been roundly condemned, their coming up with some fairy story of not having enough time to prepare.
Which is a shameful admission of the fact that they’d decided months ago that they wouldn’t bother.
And an imminent re designation of electoral boundaries isn’t an excuse either. That should have been done already.
If lack of money really is the problem, perhaps they could come up with something inventive.
How about Vote Club.
Join now and you could be in with a chance of voting at the next election!
Get priority entry to your local polling station!
Only £49 per year! (Terms and conditions of voting habits apply)
Or maybe only give the vote to those with a TV licence?
Maintain democracy and save ‘Our’ BBC at the same time.
Everyone’s a winner!
Well, sort of.
Don’t you just love living in a democracy?
7
“Too skint to run a democracy?”
North Korea and Russia spring to mind, you could use that for internal PR in those places.
5
Think of all the money they’d save if they just got rid of elections altogether.
It’s curious how excuses for being undemocratic centre around other people’s money..
“Yes I know I’ve been elected as MP as a Tory but decided to join Reform now,no I won’t stand down and trigger a by election as it will cost a lot of someone else’s money so fuck off”.
Gravy Train dung.
Oven.
Good morning.
11
Lincoln Labour council made much of the fact that an election cost £174k and could be better spent on services. That’s about a quid per resident which would be pissed away on frippery anyway.
They were cancelling ‘for the people of Lincoln’
Selfless service.
10
The council should use the illegals to fill in the 4 thousand potholes in Blackburn, according to the song the blackjack’s singing group sang years ago.
9
Do I spy converts in the header pic? those hands of the pill box fashionistas look quite a lot paler than they ought 😧…and they’ve certainly been on the double helpings of samosas and bhajis looking at their frames or are they concealing something 😩…. could be a few ballot boxes for the imam 🧐
9
Undercover brick layers I would say.
However if I am wrong you can understand the need for polygamy, being hooked up with one of them by your relatives is a daunting future so best out of four may help.
4
Even though the elections are back on, the councils involved are whinging that they do not have enough time to get things ready. Well if they had not tried to thwart democracy in the first place they would not have had such difficulties, self serving cunts. Anyway the real reason for the continued heel dragging is because those councillors who voted to suspend elections will now be removed by the voters for being crooked scum. Of course they will be replaced by Lib Dems. Fucking depressing, isn’t it?
10
Good morning, everyone.
7
Why do I foresee all of the councils who planned to cancel elections furiously wiping hard drives and shovelling incriminating paperwork into a Shred it wagon?
A bit like the way the Gestapo were acting during the fall of the third Reich.
9
And that is of course precisely what happened in central government in the run up to the implementation of the Freedom of Information act Odin.
7
Nt completly sure of the detail, but the change of boundaries is a bit more than just that. It seems to be about creating mega councils controlling big areas with fewer people and less accountability to the little people. I guess a bit like the merging of police forces and fire services away from local decision making. As I say hazy on detail I’ m afraid.
Mornin’ all
7
Morning, Mr T. I suspect it has much to do with sophisticated gerrymandering to ensure a thousand year reich for Her Kweer and his cronies.
7
Funny how the government suddenly found out that cancelling the elections would be illegal just when Farage was about to drag them to the court.
Local elections usually have a very low turnout, I suspect this time a few more will make the effort given all the publicity.
The Blackburn three in the header are overjoyed at being allowed to vote, just wait until postal votes are banned and they have to show photo ID 😂
8
even stranger being that the bloke that was going to stop them was a lawyer himself, I high ranking one at that, or so I am lead to believe.
3
‘Blackburn’s decision to ask the Government for a postponement’.
Why do they want a postponement, is the pitch waterlogged or something?
And what’s it got to do with the Government? Surely they should ask the EFL.

Things are gradually changing towards normality by “Playing the White Man” again.
10
Thanks for the reminder Sammy. A widely used expression in my youth. I’m going to start using it again.
“Come on, play the white man.” Oh yes!
6
Yes, arfurbrain. Blacky up before the judge. “You didn’t play the white man, send him down”.
2
My thoughts? They are all gerrymandering cunts. The deepest pit in the deepest circle of Dante’s Hell is too good for them.
6
Alas, since this nom was written, Kweer was forced into yet another U-Turn (was it the 13th or 14th) and now they will be facing the music in May, and no doubt Two TIer will be resigning over the weekend of 9th/10th May. Rejoice at that news!
7
Lefty Councils have decided they can dictate foreign policy. They should keep their unqualified noses out of such issues and spend the money on rubbish collections etc
7
Ah, The bin man, a person I once viewed as a sub working class hinderance who has now in my opinion been elevated to the most value for money item provided by the council.
6
Binmen?
Princes of the working class.
Hi vis peacocks
Wish i was a binman
Just for the glamour.
But id have to smarten myself up.

Council leader Phil Riley looks like he should be playing bongos in a yurt at Glastonbury.
6
He looks to me like he should be pushing up the daisies in a cemetery.
6
Don’t know why Blackburn Labour Party is worried. I assume those three “beauties” in the header picture are off down the local mosque to start filling out the 300k postal voting forms.
8
Blackburn council are considering this…🤬

FUCKING HUGE BURIAL GROUND FOR PEACEFULS ONLY…!
8
I am sure that composting is acceptable, also takes up less room.
5
Simply saying ‘it was the right decision’ does not make it so. The ‘quality services’ being delivered aren’t specified other than paying for shit that shouldn’t be here or rubbish we don’t need.
How many people do you come across in day to day life that see achieving net zero by 2030 as a priority? None.
These people are on their own agenda, not ours. They know they are against the grain hence cancelling elections.
If I had my way I’d have all of them shot.
6
I am tempted to agree with you on all points bar one, the amount of care in the community I meet on a daily basis is surprising.
On that basis I would ask that the councils provide secure accommodation for the worse cases and act as a deterrent to the malingerers.
shooting them does sound fun though.
4
Agreed LB, and treatment centres for those afflicted with the woke mind disease, with shooting reserved for the incurable.
4
The rule should be, if they’re walking round dressed like that, they should be in red and must stand still. Preferably on the corner of a main road.
4
Aah ‘democracy’ don’tcha just love it?
“That condition whereby the votes of two idiots trump that of one wise man” as Uncle H was wont oft to say.

Tin pot dictatorship

Hope you don’t mind my digression on the one subject per day by realising whilst watching the Bundesliga on telly, that they have very high walls and fencing at their football grounds. Doesn’t that remind you of something familiar during the last war, old chaps.

What you scared of Phil?
Losing your cushy job
And having to go back to playing in a Jethro Tull tribute band on a Saturday night?
Weres your bollocks?
Come on Catweazle lets see how democracy treats you.
