The fact of the matter is that Alex Pretti was carrying a loaded Sig P320 and two additional magazines. The Sig P320 is known for having a safety issue, whereby the gun can accidentally discharge if there is a round in the chamber.
It looks like the ICE agent who disarmed the mostly violent protester wasn’t aware that there was a round tacked in the chamber and the slightest touch of the trigger would set it off.
Long story short, gun discharges, ICE agents panic and Alex Pretti gets ventilated.
The lesson here is don’t show up to a protest armed and looking for trouble.

Since I live in Minnesota and Minneapolis is only about 45 minutes south of where I am, I thought I’d add my $0.02.
One of the biggest problems is how everything is framed by the left leaning media. If they were to be believed, then law enforcement are indiscriminately raiding homes/businesses and abducting innocent and law abiding American citizens and/or simply unlawfully killing them in the street. That’s not what is happening.
No new illegal immigration laws have been passed since the transition from the Biden administration to the Trump administration. The difference is the Trump administration is choosing to enforce the laws of the US whereas the Biden administration chose not to. If it had, we wouldn’t have the scale of problem we now have. It’s also worth noting that the Obama administration did enforce the same laws to a degree and there were ‘ICE raids’ on Barry’s watch, but no protests. Another example of “it’s OK when the left does it”.
The protesters are not a genuine group of concerned citizens who have grave concerns about the abduction and deportation of law abiding and fine upstanding members of their communities. These protests are well organised and funded with links going back to China, in particular some tech millionaire called Neville Singham. In other words, this is paid and funded opposition. There are countless videos on YT of “protestors” not being able to answer questions about what they’re protesting against or simply refusing to answer questions. If you’re that concerned and passionate about your cause, why would you not jump at the chance to say why?
The protests themselves don’t make any sense. What they appear to be protesting for is NOT having law enforcement show up to apprehend and deport known violent criminals who are in the country illegally. In other words, the protestors want to shield and keep in their communities gang members, murderers, rapists, sex traffickers, drug traffickers, child molesters and so forth. The fact that anyone would accept money to protest and interfere with law enforcement operations on that basis is sickening to me and most normal Minnesotans.
As for Alex Pretti. Much has been made of him carrying a loaded firearm for which he had a permit. That’s all true, but context is absolutely crucial. From afar it might seem that America’s gun culture has us all strolling around town with an arsenal strapped to our belts, a mean look in our eyes just looking for trouble and any old excuse to start blasting anyone who gets in our way. The reality is very, very different. The vast majority of people who carry a concealed firearm you would never know it was on their person. Carrying a firearm comes with it a huge responsibility and an overwhelming expectation that you are both properly trained and fully aware of the gun laws in your location. People who carry responsibly completely avoid confrontations or any situation which has the potential to turn violent. Carrying a loaded firearm isn’t just about the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to do so, it’s also about situational awareness. In other words, don’t enter or stick around in a situation which is or looks combustible. If you draw your weapon you should also open fire on an imminent deadly threat to your safety and well being. Otherwise don’t draw your weapon.
Minnesota is not a gun friendly state. On the books is a ‘duty to retreat’ law which basically means you should seek to remove yourself from a confrontational situation rather than stay where you are and defend yourself. If you used deadly force lawfully but had an obvious escape route, you’re in deep shit. Conversely, other states have ‘stand your ground’ laws which mean you’re not obligated to run away if you can. Minnesota also has harsh brandishing laws. If you were to draw your firearm and point it at a potential assailant to let them know you have a firearm and could shoot them if they attacked you, you could be charged and prosecuted for not actually using deadly force, but basically scaring a would-be assailant with a deadly weapon. No, I’m not making that up.
So what’s my point here?
My point is, the ICE protests are a highly combustible and potentially violent and confrontational situation. As a protestor, you’re unlikely to meet any resistance from your fellow protestors, so presumably you’re carrying a weapon to defend yourself against law enforcement. If you’re not doing anything illegal, don’t pose a threat to law enforcement and comply with any instructions given to you by law enforcement, why would you need a firearm at a protest? The answer is, you wouldn’t. Making the decision to carry in that context was a bad idea.
Going to a protest, even one as deranged as these ones, should not mean you lose your life. I think we can all agree with that. However, if your actions pose an imminent perceived threat to law enforcement, then you run the risk of engaging in a confrontation you’re not going to win. Alex Pretti chose to put himself in that situation and thus ran the risk of a deadly encounter. That’s what he got. Right or wrong. He made the choice to put himself in that situation. Blaming law enforcement is an attempt to lay blame elsewhere and not accept personal responsibility.
Where law enforcement didn’t get it right was in the previous interaction with Pretti. Following his death, the libtards jumped on the ‘poor innocent victim of an authoritarian regime….fine upstanding member of the community….a nurse….a caring person who only wants to help….loves his mum….kind to animals….’. You get the picture. But wait – what’s this? Video of him verbally abusing law enforcement, spitting on them and kicking out a tail light of one of their vehicles. Lovely. Multiple federal crimes there and if he’d been nicked for those, he wouldn’t have been free to show up days later and put himself back in harm’s way. THAT’S where law enforcement fucked up, not shooting the idiot.
An acronym which has gained popularity recently is FAFO. Fuck Around Find Out. In other words, being a dick around law enforcement will have consequences. Officers have a split second to assess if someone poses a deadly threat to them and if they decide they do, they are authorised to use deadly force. So many factors come into play. Lighting (everything crystal clear or dark and shadowy), clothing (clean, clear and tight fitting or baggy and shrouded possibly concealing a weapon), compliance with instructions (backing off, showing hands or ignoring and advancing).
Think of it this way…if a football player goes in with a high tackle on an opponent, they run the risk of a yellow or red card. They’ve forced the ref to make a decision. If they didn’t commit the tackle, the ref has no decision to make and play continues. Pretti put himself in a situation where law enforcement had to make a decision and that decision cost him his life. If he’d stayed home or not got involved, he’d be alive today and the fact he isn’t is not law enforcement’s fault – it’s his.

To see them on TV proudly stating they will not assist ICE in the location, apprehension and removal of illegal immigrant violent criminals is siding AGAINST the citizen of their state/city and is a treasonous act. It just is.
As they say, ICE did not bring chaos to your city. Liberal chaos brought ICE to your city.

I have been following the ICE interventions in the US with some interest.
It is strange how ICE seem to be able to do their jobs with only minor local protests in all other states, but in Minnesota they are facing armed resistance from white liberal fuckwits.
As you say, these are paid protesters, busses in from surrounding towns and cities to cause as much hullabaloo as possible. It’s childish, but that’s the tolerant left for you.
What this really is, is a smoke screen to allow Walz, Frey and Omar to cover their tracks.
all three of those have taken brown envelopes to turn a blind eye to the billions of dollars in fraud, perpetrated by the Somali illegal immigrant community.

You are exactly right about that. It’s a diversion to take attention away from the fraud issue. It is inconceivable that Walz did not know what was going on. If he did, he’s complicit in defrauding the tax payers. If he didn’t, he wasn’t paying attention and thus is not fit for office. The man is an absolute clown. His nickname is Tampon Tim because he signed off a law requiring feminine hygiene products to be available in boys toilets in schools. For the sake of inclusivity. That’s how deranged he is. Plus he lied about his military record. Plus….ugh! who has the strength?
The overarching point here is, the longer Trump is in power the more the left and the Democrats are exposed for their corruption, lies, hypocrisy, money laundering and fraud. He’s exposing the swamp and the ICE protests are an example of the swamp fighting back. The ICE protests are also an attempt to avert similar ICE operations in other democrat run cities. If the protesters can get ICE to leave or scale back operations, it’s a sign they’re winning and will give oxygen to similar protests in other cities when ICE shows up. The DHS cannot afford for that to happen otherwise it’s anarchy and mob rule.
It is interesting that republican run states and cities don’t seem to have a protester problem. The main reasons being those states don’t have massive fraud to cover up and the governors and mayors willingly cooperate with federal law enforcement.
