Our NHS (36)

( or is it? )

Does anyone remember a news item regarding the proposal to bring 50 severely injured Gazan children, along with their immediate families, to the UK to be treated by the NHS?

I seem to remember comments on here about why here? What about other countries? In the interest of fairness, I did some quick research, and according to a BMJ article Italy, Spain, Norway, USA, UAE and Qatar are also offering medical treatment.

Then the story seem to die a death until I saw this BBC news item.

So, Prince William went to visit ” a number of children from Gaza receiving treatment in a NHS hospital”
The article goes on to say ” as of 21st November, 50 children are receiving treatment in surroundings that are safe and welcoming “. Of course, their families are with them, too.

Our NHS?

Kept that quiet, didn’t they?

As a footnote, has anyone else noticed that almost every BBC news report that mentions Palestine has the following two paragraphs tacked on to the end ?

“Israel launched a military operation in Gaza after Hamas-led militants based in the Palestinian territory attacked Israel on 7 October 2023, killing 1,200 people and abducting 251.
At least 70,100 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the territory’s Hamas-run health ministry. A ceasefire was called on 10 October”.

This was copied from an article about police arresting protesters two days ago, but is also attached, word for word , on the link.

Biased? Surely not?

  1. Went to Manchester Cathedral this morning, for Mani’s funeral. Met my old workmates from Happy Mondays, when we worked at the GPO many years ago.
All the Roses were there as expected, plus Liam Gallagher, Peter Hook, Paul Weller, Bobby Gillespie and many others. It was a lovely send off for a top, top lad.

    RIP.

    • Although I was a Roses fan, I was there more as a fellow Manchester United supporter. That is where I used to see him. Met Mani on a ferry from Eindhoven in 1986, when it was full of United and West Ham fans. Naturally, carnage ensued.

He was even more fanatical and United mad than I was. When once asked (before we won it in ninety nine) if he would rather spend a day in the Playboy Mansion or go to see United win the European Cup. Mani replied ‘No contest. The European Cup.’
      Proper Red, Great kid.

      • Yeah, I clocked Neville, Gelderd.
Wonder if he complained about the St George’s flag on top of the Cathedral?

Was glad that Beckham left his horrendous Mrs behind.
She’d have made it all about her. Cunt that she is.

  2. Funny, how they fall over themselves for these Gaza people.
Yet my 73 year old dad (who had worked and paid in all his life) had to wait 11 hours to be seen in A&E.

  3. Slightly O/T, but did anyone have Chris Rea in the Dead Pool?
And points deducted for the first Cunter to state the most obvious joke.
    🚗🏠🎄

    • The online media and news headlines about Chris are typically predictable and lazy.

They all say ‘Driving Home For Christmas Singer Chris Rea dies’.

No mention of all his other works. He was massive in the late 80s, with albums like The Road To Hell and Auberge.

Lame for Gen-Z ignorant cunts shite by BBC, Sky and the like.

      • Very sad to hear of Chris’s passing, esp. at this time of year. His music’s been bringing me immense pleasure for donkey’s years.

Now playing in the great band in the sky.

RIP Chris, and thanks for all the music my friend.

  4. Growing out of workers’ benevolent schemes, like the Welsh miners chipping in to keep a bed reserved in the local hospital for injured workmates, the NHS seemed an excellent idea. But as with all good ideas it had to be constantly “improved” and tinkered with until it has become the bureaucratic behemoth it is today offering services and treatments that are of questionable value (£) to say the least.
Not held to any meaningful account, it will always be the ever open hand that can never receive enough.
As to being “My NHS” it belongs to me as much as any privatised utility, the Armed Forces, National Parks, the roads, the police, or anything else. Just because you pay for it does not mean you own it or even have a say in how it is run. The same goes for many who are employed within it. Just as most plods join for the right reason and then get fucked over, the same goes for many of the nursing staff in the NHS.
As an aside, all Israelis are 4×2, but not all 4×2 are Israelis, just all good and honest men are British but not all British men are good and honest.

  5. The NHS go to the empty jungle for a rest and to help the RSPCA look after the over populated animals that aren’t being killed due to the black bastards coming to Europe with their new hobby of killing humans instead.

  6. ‘Our NHS, ‘Our Democracy’. When they prefix something with ‘our’ we’re meant to believe it’s a commonality but actually they mean theirs because we have no say in it.

Bit like when they want to send the young to fight and die in a new European war to protect ‘our way of life’ they actually mean their ideology and their way of life.

Trans women are women, well if so they’d just be women with no need for qualification.

Labours mission statement is to help the poor at home and abroad, as ever with socialism it means making more people poorer.

Fuck em, fix the NHS and fix the lack of personal responsibility now inherent in our society.

There are multiple Muslim countries in the region that have good hospitals and healthcare that can care for these kids. If the UK government wants to help Gaza keep your noses out of it.

  7. My biggest dread is winding up in my local A&E in Brighton on a Saturday night…
It resembles a Gaza hospital full of Sub Human scum demanding they get seen first.

    • Yeah, 30 people who have accidentally fallen over and got a bottle stuck up their arse.
And ten who fell on a cucumber.
