I’ve had a reasonable contented life growing up in Manchester. No problems with my entire schooling and fortunately both junior and senior schools were close to home in the same streets. The only blacks I saw were from the Windrush era in my teens and they were only from a distance. Enjoyed the sixties with the clothes and music. No trouble. The only problems came once I moved to London in the eighties with the occasional unprovoked skirmishes from blacks trying to steal my bicycle whilst I was riding it. Being attacked by blacks again when entering the flats I lived and had my money stolen. Being punched again by a young black whilst waiting for a train. Friends would also have the same problems. Fortunately I now live in a safe seaside town where there are none of those nuisance blacks. It feels like I’ve come home.
