I suspect a few who said that they didn’t know what I was talking about were a being a bit disegenuous. They know there is something more than just ‘things being bad’ about the times but are afraid to face it.
The composite verb ‘taken hold’ comes to mind. Evil has ‘taken holdbof our culture’ doesnt sound like hyperbole now. I notice it is being said more and more (or something similar) by ordinary people.
So supposedly old, outdated language like ‘Good and Evil’ are back front and centre of this post-Christian life of ours.
