Minority Influence.

I quote “Minority influence, a form of social influence, takes place when a member of a minority group influences the majority to accept the minority’s beliefs or behavior.”

I read an article on the BBC (where else) regarding Disney+ decision to add a content warning to 18 episodes of The Muppet Show.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-56153016

One example was having the great Johnny Cash singing in front of a confederate flag, pure symbol of racism.

Yet again this makes the assumption that the majority of people would find this offensive.

I don’t.

And I would assume that the vast silent majority either don’t find it offensive or have no opinion either way, but because we don’t immediately send Twitter into meltdown our opinion is largely ignored.

In English law there is a term called “Man on the Clapham omnibus”.

The man on the Clapham omnibus is a hypothetical ordinary and reasonable person, used by the courts in English law where it is necessary to decide whether a party has acted as a reasonable person would – for example, in a civil action for negligence.

Surely before companies decide on these things they could say to themselves, what would a reasonable persons opinion be?

Instead of listening to the rabid, BLM, woke, lefty, libtard cancel culture.

  1. Also known as ” jumping on the bandwagon”
A practice that needs to be undertaken with care, in case you slip and find yourself mangled under the wheels of the aforementioned bandwagon.
    Nice one.

  2. Companies are terrified of cancel culture, Twitter inspired boycotts and is so much easier to go down the rabbit hole of woke and cave in to the headbangers.

One exception I know of is Goya Foods in the US, who’s CEO praised Orange Man and was immediately attacked by Democrats because they are a Hispanic food company and should be towing the line of victimhood and persecuted minority status. Despite Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez calling for a boycott of the company their sales actually increased with them publicly announcing her as their employee of the month.

    • Shouldn’t that be misuse of a public office, saying that people should boycott a business because they don’t hold the same political views.
It’s ok for some Twitter cunt to do it but not a member of the government.

      • Trump said roughly the same thing about Goodyear Tyres Sicky pre-election when they had a list of political causes that couldn’t be discussed in the workplace, except BLM, who are very political.

They accused Trump of putting jobs at risk, but its a different set of rules for the Dems and whatever agenda they are pushing.

  3. We had s cat called O’Malley. Named after Thomas O’Malley in the Aristocats. A real favourite of mine. Just looked on that link and they point to caricatures of Asians in some of the cats. Fair enough. But thinking about the film the Butler is the evil character. A posh English accent. A supercilious nose. Couldn’t the English take exception to that?
Are English women giggly, silly? The two English ducks that accompany The Duchess and the kittens could be seen like that.
(the voices of the ducks are the same actresses that played the ‘English girls upstairs’ in The Odd Couple).(The same characters really)
Titanic comes to mind. You just knew that the English upper classes would be portrayed as cold and uncaring, conniving. That is equally a stereotype.

    • But thinking about the film the English Butler Edgar is the evil character.

    • If some of the cats are caricatures of Asians, that tells you the creators were trying to be diverse. The woke brigade should be proud of this early effort to be inclusive.

  4. Fuck minority interests they are cunts because next to no fucker cares about them. Cunts the fucking lot of them. pointless cunts.

  5. The interesting thing is that those who seek to influence the majority tend to be people who contribute very little to society apart from poisonous words- empty vessels make most noise.

    • I understand the need to listen to the voice of the unrepresented, the minority, the ‘little man’.
Its meant with the best of intentions, ..accept when it isnt.
Doubt anyone black would be watching a 40+yr old episode of the Muppets and get upset by Johnny Cash (RIP) singing Infront of a Confederate flag?
Its some leftwaffe whitey bottling it, and shitstirring.
If your offended by the Muppets your not fit to go out without a carer,
And if your offended by Johnny Cash your a mong an need pistol-whipping.

  6. If anybody wants to know what a country looks like under the tyranny of the minority, look no further than Assad’s Alawite minority in Syria.

  7. Mob rule is not the British way yet that is exactly what is on the increase.
A left wing woke minority operating via digital media.
They deserve to be be completely eradicated by force.
    Vermin.

  8. It was pandering to minorities that fucked the Labour Party in the last election. Even now, when any halfway decent opposition should be kicking the Tory arse, they are 14 points behind in the polls. They never learn and are always right.

  9. What I find interesting is how people are desperate to be a member of a minority. United we stand and we all have the same basic needs and rights should be universal.

Minorities get used and discarded, once women could do no wrong but now the divide between genders is entrenched in our society women are being beaten with the trans stick.

Dumb fuckers can’t see we are being divided so we can be managed.

  10. It is a sprint to the bottom of cuntitude now, and even with Adult Baby days in the offing, there is still a fuck of a long way to go. With Boris the Cunt, Hair sniffer Joe, Pee Wee Macron, and Herr Merkel at the controls is it any wonder we are chin deep in shit already?

Take the Vaccine. Take the knee. Take this giant marxist dildo up your arse and say thank you.

    Good morning, everyone.

  11. The BBC never fail to anger me when before every vintage comedy show broadcast on Wireless 4 Extra, they inevitably say “Please bear in mind this show is more than 50 years old and therefore reflects the langauge and attitudes of the time”. They did that this week with Round The Horne (1965) one of the funniest comedy shows ever made, and Steptoe and Son (1966) because they used the word “poof”

Not long ago one announcer opined before a 1957 Goon Show that they used expressions “which sound uncomfortable today”. This was because of a Chinese reference.

I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all.

  12. Fuck em, fuck em all. Always in trouble with my kids, I still use outdated language….. no cunt is going to change me.

  13. Good point UM but you would be hard pushed to find an English person on a Clapham Omnibus in my experience.

  14. And the funniest thing?
People who are so pissed off with this nonsense they want to take a stand so they are deliberately boycotting the wokewank loving corporations and doing business with companies who have the balls to stand up for themselves.
Coca Cola sales have dipped by over 30% in less than two months after it was leaked they were forcing their white employees to effectively get on their knees and apologise for being white – Coca Cola are absolutely terrified and are backpedalling furiously but the damage has been done and other companies (namely Pepsi) have gobbled up a huge chunk of market share.
As ye sow so shall ye reap.
