A large syringeful would be a terrible waste. The LD₅₀ of fentanyl in monkeys¹ is established at ca 30µg/kg, so it is reasonable to extrapolate to a 75kg human that a dose of 2.25mg would be fatal in 50% of cases. To be on the (un)safe side, 10mg should do the trick.
Better still, save the fentanyl for transdermal patches for more therapeutic uses; as deployed against Chechen terrorists in Moscow auditoria, try 100µg carfentanyl instead. Or to be really certain, a nasty little cocktail (we’ve been here before, I trow) of the two opioids together with a liberal garnish of Drinamyl™ (sodium amobarbital) for good measure might be worth a pop.
¹ curiously, the lethality of fentanyl is far lower in animals other than Primates. According to the US FDA, the LD₅₀ is: 3mg/kg in rats, 1mg/kg in cats and a stonking 14mg/kg in dogs. It is 0.03mg/kg in monkeys (≡30µg/kg) hence the extrapolation above.

At least we find out who and where they are; likely pick up half a dozen of their friends and family when we send the bus round to collect them. Just back from shopping. Whilst in the queue in the checkout I got talking to a lady a little younger than myself about chinky flu’. She said that he husband had been vaccinated but she hadn’t. Then she said ‘ I don’t know if I should say this but…’ she went on to complain about illegal immigrants jumping the queue for the jab.
