When I started college in 1980 doing an electronics servicing (Screwdriver Monkey) course there was a weekly one hour lecture period called General and Communication studies which basically involved some bearded cunt in John Lennon glasses from the sociology department lecturing us on Marxism and the evils of western society. Attendance was mandatory and to not attend was an instant course fail, despite it having fuck all to do with transistors, diodes or amplifiers etc. In effect, compulsory Socialist indoctrination. Dread to think what schools are like now, no wonder parents get fined for taking their kids on holiday….
