The sad death of an Afghan boy who fell from a hotel window has predictably got the usual suspects outraged.

”An urgent independent investigation must be carried out into the safety of accommodation provided to Afghan refugees, a group of MPs has said.”

And you cant expect the parents to take any responsibility. It’s the government’s fault obviously. I mean, a budget hotel. With fucking windows. Shame.. It’s a good thing there are no homeless Brits in Sheffield who would have had to endure this disgraceful treatment.

  2. I read the article and it mentions more than a few times that ‘Lessons must be learnt’.

    Mathematics does not seem to be one of those lessons.

    If you let ten’s of thousands of people into a country then it is inevitable that some of that group will have an accident.

  3. Incident aside, I detest this idea of accommodating illegal immigrants and refugees in public hotels. I used to travel for business and have to stay in hotels. Bugger doing that these days.

    • Agreed, it has become a real problem. Just ask straight out if you suspect there might have been such usage. It is also now possible to have bookings cancelled as hotels are turned into refugee havens. Another no no for me is if the hotel has been used as a fucking government quarantine prison. B&Bs are also turning into hostels for druggies and drunks that are a problem for local authorities. Finally, go camping and you run the risk of meeting pikeys. There is no escaping the flat out cuntitude of Britain 2021. Fuck off.

  5. Can’t agree with this nom. An innocent kid died and both sides are trying to make it about immigration and not basic health and safety guidelines. It feels very mean spirited even for here.

    I repeat a kid died due to insufficient safety in the hotel room.

    • We have to ask what was the family doing in ‘unsuitable ‘ accommodation. The answer is simply that the U.K. is being overwhelmed by daily arrivals.
      The five MPs who are demanding investigation into the situation should realise that it is the actions of politicians which created this state of affairs ; an open door policy without adequate infrastructure is a recipe for disaster.

      • Totally agree. This is a tragedy and I won’t make light of it. But things like this are going to happen when services are swamped. When will our politicians realise we simply can’t take everyone in. It’s dangerous for them and for us.

  9. These Afganis are not the same as the boatloads of illegal,undocumented economic migrants…they and their families are people who will have helped,guided,translated etc. for British forces…we gave them passage to come here…they are here legally.

    • Right. I’m sure the vetting process was thorough and operated like a well oiled machine during the “evacuation”. Every one in the stampede on to the C17 was checked, verified, and cleared properly.

    • That is the problem with the Government’s current asylum policy (or rather lack of) as witnessed by some of the responses on here. These people, who have assisted British forces at risk to their own lives, are being lumped in with the cuntish dinghy surfers.

      That said, people’s fears about mass immigration, loss of cultural identity and struggling services/infrastructure is wholly valid.

      • Yes,Mickey,I agree that some of them will be a “burden on the taxpayer” but I’d prefer that my share of that “burden” is spent on people who have helped this Country and would have faced a very uncertain future because of that instead of the illegal,undocumented economic migrants who are currently flooding over the Channel…never mind our own home-grown Spongers who wouldn’t lift a fat,lazy fucking finger to help this Country.
        I’m genuinely at a loss to understand why these Afgans are being lumped in with the dregs.

  13. This sounds like a tragic accident and as CC mentions, where were the parents? It can’t just be assumed that the hotel is automatically unfit or unsafe as presumably this hotel has been taking actual paying guests for years with no serious accidents.

    Fuck the MP’s though, demanding justice and looking for someone (Tories) to blame, cynical political opportunism.

  14. Basic health & safety? These people had been here a while.
    I wonder what the H&S was like in Calais, the dinghy or lorry .Or at Kabul airport. Or in the half dozen safe countries crossed to get to a hotel here.
    We are using hotels because camps good enough for British soldiers are deemed unfit for people fleeing war torn France. The fact that we are using hotels probably acts as a magnet.
    And do you think this hotel had no glass or frames in the windows?
    Parental responsibility is a factor and no doubt compensation will follow.

    • ” These people” had been here for a fortnight in quarantine and then about a week in this hotel….. don’t think they came by dingy or lorry..can’t imagine that they were given the option of stopping in the “half dozen safe Countries” they crossed.
      Apparently the window was not meant to open more than a few inches but actually was able to swing fully open
      “Parental responsibility”..the Father was apparently at work so perhaps the family aren’t the undeserving Spongers that it may appear.
      Perhaps compensation,if claimed,is justified.

  18. I’m from Sheffield as some of you may know. A relative of mine was booked into this hotel but was called a few hours before they were due to check in which also happened to be the day this incident happened. They told my relative it was due to a burst pipe but so happens it what because of this incident. Basically the hotel lied and offered no compensation for the inconvenience caused due to cancellation. Don’t get me wrong, it’s terrible what happened to the child but once again people who are from this country are fucked about and are just an afterthought.

  25. All this shite was because of 9/11. Yes, the Taliban were operational for a couple of years previous, but it (9/11) was down to AQ and the Taliban.

    After 9/11, the yanks (and to some degree us) had to flex. The result was 20 years occupying the place and bombing the shit out of Iraq.

    • Bush flew all of OBL’s extended family out of the US on 9/12. Limited and indeed fuck all interrogation by the CIA and FBI. The war in Afghanistan was “War Light” as Donald Rumsfeld put it. 12,000 troops and special forces. The US administration had no interest in Afghanistan. Iraq was the main objective. History has not been kind to armies fighting on two fronts. If 500,000 UN/US/Coalition troops had entered Afghanistan and Afghanistan alone, not entered Iraq, crushed 85,000 Taliban, we wouldn’t be where we are now.

  27. Every time I have been to sheffield I have become so depressed that suicide becomes an attractive option. However I have never been able to open a hotel room window by more than 6 inches. Just seems a bit unfair.
