The Dutch or Danes (one of them) have a law that any assets over a certain amount (1200 Euro I think) that a migrant owns will be taken to help pay for the cost of putting them in whatever accommodation is allocated.

It was the Danes who confiscated phones, jewellery and cash to pay for the asylum processing fee.
Usually, asylum claims are rejected based on the fact that you would had to travel through every other safe country in Europe to get to Denmark. A fair assumption, based on common sense.
Asylum seekers who are a pain in the arse, but can’t be deported (think Abu Hamza) get stuck on a remote island called Lindholm, with one ferry a week to the mainland.
They’re stuck there until such time they get bored and claim their free one way ticket back to Shitholeistan.

It can be done, but there has to be a government in place with the backbone to see it through.

Driving through Crowborough yesterday at about midday, high street blocked on one side by police cars pulled over, police holding a tanned gentleman to the ground.

They arrive in the country illegally and are immediately given access to the legal system.
How does that work?
Hardly any of them are European but they all refer to the European Court of Human Rights.
You may have read about the 500.000 illegal immigrants that are eligible for a residency visa in Spain.
This is allegedly open for undocumented immigrants who can prove that they have been in Spain since July last year and have no criminal record.
The move has been heavily criticised by Vox, our ‘Reform’ party, (but better represented and much more right wing).
Just how the government know that there are 500.000 of them if they are illegal and undocumented is a mystery.
They are supposed to be required to fill the labour gap in the agricultural and tourism industries.
So basically fruit pickers and waiters.
These are sectors which notoriously pay cash in hand at extremely low wages.
The government want to bring these people into the system where they can be taxed and the employers will have to pay our equivalent of social security.
That will drive consumer prices up and put a further strain on our health system which they will all be able to use.
Like the UK, illegal immigrants here also get free access to the legal system.
However, British people here who get caught for being in the country illegally, and lacking the almost impossible to obtain documentation can be given 3 days to leave the country without any need for a court case.
The UK is not the only place with a 2 tier system.
The only difference in Spain is that anyone that doesn’t work will get nothing, or at best very little out of the system.
If you don’t work then you don’t eat.
The immigrants here know that, so the lazy and feckless are the ones that make the journey north to Calais and end up in a street near you.

40k is probably cheaper than the various court costs that they would run up.
If they have been blatantly breaking the law then I see no reason why they should be allowed to use the same legal system free of charge to fight their cases.
I know for a fact that there are British people who are desperate to get out of the UK.
These people have money to support themselves in the short term and are capable and willing to work in the long term.
If any of them were to enter any country, including any European country illegally they would be put on the first flight back, at their own expense.
The border forces and police would do that.
No court case required.

Start everyday from the beginning. It’s just after the war, only I’m far better off. Can’t help dipping into the past due to having access these days of reliving every detail. There wasn’t the mess people are in now who don’t have the sense they were born with. I’m using technology to relive what it was like without it.
