Congratulations to shaun who has gone and won Dead Pool 371 by picking Sheila Jordan the acclaimed Jazz singer and songwriter who has died at 96.Jordan grew up in poverty in Michigan and was a single mother whos debut album “A portrait of Sheila was critically acclaimed.She didnt realse a second album for another 12 years however remained prolific in old age recording 19 albums since the millenium.She was seen as a pioneer in bebop and scat music styles.She was recognised as a Jazz master by the us national endowement of arts.Performing well into the 90s she made a bbc show about herself just this year.She is survived by her daughter.
