I hate to tell this, but even if there was a political will to deploy the Royal Navy (which they never will) – his Mejesty’s Navy is no longer up the task.
Half the Navys ships are in dry dock or permenantly anchored in port awaiting repairs or backlog maintenance, and they don’t have enough qualified officers and ratings to adequately crew the remainder of the fleet.
If the Falklands were invaded today, I doubt the Navy would make it past Gibraltar.
Sad story of all our armed forces – underfunded, undermanned and underequiped.
