King Charles’ Music Playlist

I can imagine the panic the flunkies at buck house flew into when this idea was floated.

‘fuck me, this list HAS to keep EVERYONE happy guys…..this is going to be a major task. Then we have to brief the King on everyone on his list so he has a reasonable understanding as to who they are when quizzed. It HAS to include all ethnicities, religions, genders, and the commonwealth’

‘but, isn’t it the Kings list, not ours?’

‘fuck off…we can’t have him upsetting people by leaving certain ones out’

‘but shouldn’t it be a genuine list of the music he likes?’

‘don’t be fucking stupid……it’s a list to keep everyone happy, whether he likes them or not’

‘but that’s not an accurate reflection is it?’

‘no, but nowadays accuracy is less important than inclusiveness, so that’s how it’s going to be, OK?’

‘but, that’s bollocks’

‘yup’

Call me cynical, but when this list was released none of the content came as any surprise to me. The only person that should have been surprised was the King when he saw it and thought….who the fuck are half these, I’ve never heard of them.

  1. I’m just shocked that he didn’t include something like

    Greensleeves, or
    Pavanne Pour un Enfant Mort.

    Seems more his style.

      • The Mrs has just got a new half speed LP of Wing’s ‘Venus and Mars’.

Better than I remember it. I still like the Crossroads theme done by Jimmy McCulloch. Jim added some bite and rock to Macca’s wlork.

  2. No Fat Reg, eh?
Probably because he was friend ot the (ex) wife.

But you think the cunt would have something English in there?

Edward Elgar, Handel, even Hank and The Shadows.

In the past, we had kings (even though they were cunts) who loved England and defended it tooth and nail. Now, we have a king who actually hates England and the English. It certainly appears to be that way.

    • I see Man U play Forest on Tuesday night Norm.

United floundering in mid table while Forest are one of the better teams in the league.

      It’s just like old times.

      • Oh aye, Herman.

Cloughie’s Forest were our bogey team in the 80s. We very rarely beat them back then.

I remember being at the City Ground January 1990. Mark Robins scored that winner and the rest is history…

  3. After hitting one or two of those YouTube links on the previous page, I ended up hitting the YT documentary side of things for a while.

I watched a video about how they joined & held the hulls of the great ocean liners together.

    It was riveting.

Then I watched one about the Kola Superdeep & how they achieved such a (12KM) depth down into the Earth’s crust.

    It was boring.

My first foray in to the Friday ‘bit o’ music’ offering. Pull my Strings by Dead Kennedys. A song they wrote and performed as a prank and was played only this one time, in front of a roomful of music exec’s. An ‘ambush’ song, if you will.

DK had been invited to play an annual SF industry back-slapping shindig called the ‘Bammies’, attended by music industry bigwigs, and transmitted in real time on the radio, agreeing to perform ‘California Uber Alles'(which you can hear at the outset), … and then …
