Just been reading Belloc and the ‘Mohammadan Heresy’. He details how swiftly it spread.

But not only because it won battles (which it did) but also because of its simple teaching.

The geographic spread is astonishing though. Within the a lifetime after the death of the Prophet it had conquered Syria and a great swaith of North Africa. Not long after that it had a foothold in Europe. All of Spain went Muslim in a short time. The Balkans and Mesopotamia.

It really was astonishingly quick.
But Belloc argues and I agree with him that it was the simple teaching of a ‘One God’ that was attractive to people.

The law was simplified as well. Simple ‘debt forgiveness’ if you became a Muslim.

It had actually a reasonably ‘light tough’ on people’s lives as well. it wasn’t at the beginning as Authoritarian and rigid as it’s now.

Learning was high and encouraged.

What we must always remember about Islam (and the danger of it) is that it is a Christian Heresy.

The only heresy that has sprung from outside the Church.

As aways with heresies Islam is a simplification of the Christan message. That is why in part it is popular.

See you live a good life and you die and on Judgement Day (specific Christian teaching) you will be judged.

All the old Testament is taken as read. All the stories of and Personages are just lifted from the Bible into into the Quran as it were. Abraham, Moses

And so with the Gospels. Jesus is given the highest possible reverence. And so is Miriam (Mary).

Yes very similar to Calvinistic Heresy. John Calvin was obsessed with the idea of the Providence of God. Same with Mohammad.

Said it before-that emphasis on the sovereignty of God can be very dangerous.

Can be summed up there’s no room for Man in it. There is no ‘relationship’ with Allah.

That can make for very unhappy and dissatisfied people.

    • What a question. Now that has made me think.

      I have been following ‘Ye’ recently about the disproportionate infuence Jews have in the entertainment industry.

      Brought back a lot of uncomfortable feelings.

      But I dont think it is a ‘jewish conspiracy’.

      Funny though I NEVER think there is an Islamic conspiracy or indeed Chrisian ‘conspiracy’ influencing us.

  4. You could just as easily write a nomination for Christianity as a Jewish heresy. All that stuff about a ‘son’ of God and a ‘trinity’ is a major deviation from the First Commandment.

    Both Judaism and Islam are legalistic, nitpicking religions whereas Christianity says ‘believe in Jesus and you will be saved.’ Which one is for the simpleminded?

  9. That word ‘heresy,’ usually meant certain death. If you did not denounce your “mistaken beliefs,” you were classed as a trouble maker, and a bad influence to many. You would be burnt at the stake on being found guilty. One such person, by the wonderful name of Galileo Galilei, suggested some 500 odd years ago, that the earth went around the sun. So in 1633 having caused a ‘lot of bother’ to the Catholic Church, there was a Roman Inquisition. He was from then on held under house arrest until his death in 1642. Heresy, unlike treason, where you would also meet a certain death, by being hung drawn & quartered was eventually decriminalised in 1677, but it took the Catholic Church some 300 more years to realise what he had stated was actually correct.

  11. Race grifter and Trump Anal wart Farage was bleating about immigration this week, regarding the sensus results. He blamed immigration for the decline in fuckwits believing in Christianity, but it has fuck all to do with it. There are not enough followers of other religions to sway the results, as the non believing white indigenous British outnumber Christians and by far any other of the crank philosophies.
    I would imagine a more enlightened and educated population who have little time for preposterous myths is way more responsible for the welcome decrease in this ridiculous drivel.

      • I would say the opposite, if someone can believe in such a ridiculous concept as God, they probably will believe in anything.
        I don’t have time for belief or faith, as neither require evidence, only blind adherence to something.
        A scientific theory is constantly challenged, and evolves as better information is added.

    • I am agnostic. I like to believe, I just don’t follow structured religion because there is too many branches of it all spouting their own way. So yes, I’d like to be a Christian Protestant. However, it’s a waste of time sitting in a Church crying at a figurine. But I still believe. Being Atheist is in my mind rather closed and lonely, you need some guiding morals. However, who am I to judge?

  12. I live in a predominately Muslim country and find they are absolutely no trouble at all. As ever, the msm only promotes what sells, ie extremism. I actually get treated better here than the UK. No one asks what religion I am, and they accept me. However, no one trusts the fucking Jews, the sneaky hook nosed cunts. They practice to deceive and scuttle about in the shadows. Remember, “ the Jews are not the men who will be blamed for nothing” Jack the Ripper, allegedly!

The only problem with Jews is that the ones we know most about tend to be “media Jews” be they “comedians” (I speak loosely of course) like David Baddiel and Ben Elton, political comedians like Jack Straw, the Miliband Brothers (they used to be called Mike and Bernie Winters) and Peter Fagin Mandelson, forever scheming to revive the rotting cadaver of Blairism. I believe to be all things to all men Dame Kweer claims to be half Jewish (but he didn’t say which half or which Jew) certainly he is bringing up his children in the Jewish faith. If Kweer is lying yet again, I just hope there is a Mohel somewhere with a blunt butter knife to administer the Bris.

    But, all that to one side, at least Jews don’t demand the Kosher version of Sharia Law, they treat this country with respect. They don’t shit in your front garden, and, at least in the UK they don’t bomb our public buildings, trains or houses. They are no threat to us, they go about their observances quietly. They don’t insist we conform to their standards.

    Muslims make me uncomfortable. I am comfortable with Jews – or anyway I get by. They have some great musicians.

    • I agree. The Jews have made a great contribution to Western Civilization. And yes, my mother was Jewish so I have some skin in the game ( apart from the little bit that’s missing). Muslims, made some contributions in the Middle Ages by preserving Greek thought ( not their own thought, mind you). Since then it been all downhill for Muslims.

      • To be fair the Medieval Arabs did make some great contributions to Astronomy. But it was work based on the Greeks before them. Todays modern Muslim bigots despise non- Muslim thought.

    Err, nope. Horribly simplified, it’s yet another Judaic sect, just like Christianity, where the base religion is Judaism but, just like Christianity, they’d sprinkled it with added fuckwittery goodness to make it more ‘palatable’ for their original respective target markets.

    The ‘Christian heresy’ part, I suppose, is based on the belief amongst Christians that as Islam recognises their ‘Christ’ character as merely Jesus the man, a prophet and the Messiah in a strictly Judaic sense this means that somehow Islam had it’s origins as a Christian sect that ‘went wrong’, blithely ignoring the inconvenient fact that there were also Judaic sects still extant in Muhammad’s time and region who held that Jesus the man was the Judaic messiah but who still followed Judaic teachings and laws, even today, you can still find their spiritual descendants…of sorts…lurking around, e.g. https://jewsforjesus.org/

    So as to Islam being a ‘Christian heresy’…no, they hold beliefs which are heretical to Christians, in the same manner that followers of Hinduism, Shinto, Buddhism, etc, etc. do so as well.

    However, If you do want to play the ‘something heresy’ card, then it’s best described as a Jewish one…just like it’s other major fellow Abrahamic religion, Christianity.

    Now, taking it further, is the current Abrahamic flavour of Judaism that Islam and Christianity are heretical sects of, merely itself a heretical sect of Aten worship (sprinkled with added fuckwittery goodness) that the once polytheistic ancestors of the Jews picked up (with a short lived side order of Hathor worship) during their soujorn in Egypt as economic migrants?
