What makes me laugh is that £1.4 million is the going rate for a ramshackle ( or in this case, ramshekel) old shithole in Cornwall these days.
I loved reading about all these Londoners who bought up nearly every property in Cornwall without even viewing them.
Imagine their disappointment upon finding that the“idyllic quaint character cottage that they paid £300k for is built out of “mundic” (a by product of Cornwall’s industrial heritage known as “mining smegma”) and has a roof constructed from corrugated iron or better still, corrugated asbestos sheets.
The water supply comes from a well infested with leeches and the shit ( if the place is luxurious enough to have a flush toilet) makes its way to a blocked up septic tank shared with ten other dwellings. The property has no parking so good luck sticking the Volvo v90 in a public car park and expecting the windows and tyres to be in one piece in the morning.
