Christopher Hitchens

Just been looking at a video of him and his attack on Mother Teresa. Saying she was beyond criticism in the media and he was going to change that.

He looked very pleased at saying that. Then he mentioned his book about her ‘Hell’s Angel’ and he paused for the reaction. And there were giggles. Then he mentioned his other book about called ‘The Missionary Position’. Once again a few giggles. He looked very pleased with himself again. Like a little boy.

I haven’t read much about the criticisms of her but my I think they would be unjust.
I suppose the worst one would be poor standard of medical care. But these criticisms were made of her at the beginning when she didn’t have any money for expensive drugs or treatments.. She literally started out to simply give the ‘Poorest of the Poor’ a place to die with dignity instead of on the streets. See they will have been from the ‘untouchable’ class or lowest caste. There was no ‘funding’ for these despised people inside India or out.

The dodgy people she got funding from. Robert Maxwell for one. There are photographs of him with her. But I believe she took the money and ran. Same with all the others I can’t be bothered to look up.

You know it’s the oldest trick in the book to try and disparage someone or tarnish their reputation to show a photograph of them with someone dodgy. Tarred with the same brush see.

The accusation of forced Baptisms or conversions. I heard her say many times that anyone would be admitted to their care no matter what religion or none.

Just don’t believe it.

Back to Christopher. He always looked very well fed to me. I don’t think he wouldn’t have faired well in stinking surroundings. He was always at literary gatherings. Once again his delicate nostrils far distant from the stench of the gutter

More charitably he was against the Iraq War. His brother Peter said of him he had an ‘active mind’. But a bit like Oscar Wilde there was that about him – he liked to shock and be a bit naughty for notoriety.

One last thing there are 4000 ‘Sisters of Charity’ homes I think around the world now. Nobody makes the criticism now of poor medical care. That’s because there is widespread funding from donations. She didn’t have that in the beginning. It takes time for a thing like this to fully establish itself.

      • ‘I don’t think he wouldn’t have faired well in stinking surroundings’

I don’t think he would have faired well in stinking surroundings

    • Who is this Hitchens cunt anyway?
Always being name dropped on here?
He looks a greasy little puff.
He knows no more about the existence of God than you or I.
      Just opinion.
      Fuck him👆
And hes sticking the boot into that raisin in a napkin?
      He’s hard.
Try sticking the boot into Islam Chris you brave cunt?
      Naw thought not!
      Fuckin shitehawk egghead…

      • Mother Theresa looks a lot like Burgess Meredith?!!

“Your a bum,Rock, you cant beat him!”

      • To be fair to him Miserable he did go after Islam as well. He wrote a book -‘God is not Great’.
One of the aggressive ‘New Atheists’ like Dawkins.
A lot of believers thought his early death was a sign from God.

      • He’s was as vocal on the peaceful crowd as all the others, including the one faith the others are all stolen from, that being the front wheel skids. There is a great video on YouTube of him on a discussion panel and he calls out a rabbi for the sexual mutilation of children, as in the circumcision bollocks.
The entire god squad hate him.

      • Miles@
        Gj@

Thing is he’ll be crying when they have a go back.
He seems to get off on taunting religious types,
Hes one of these who buts into a conversation
        “Actually, I think you’ll find”…
        A know it all.
        A smug twat.
He’ll end up getting battered or a worse then be crying about it.
He inows no more than any of us on here.
        Just shouts louder.

      • ‘A lot of believers thought his early death was a sign from God’
That was just wishful thinking by the pious cunts.

  1. It’s human nature to hate someone who has a completely different opinion to yours, especially if they are denouncing your way of life, if deep down you know they are right.

  2. Can’t trust them God botherers, they act all charitable but underneath there is a sinister desire to suppress and control. 🤨

  3. Are we cunting the dead now?

Christopher Hitchens turned his toes up a decade ago.

    Grumpus Invalidus.

    • He did indeed PM, so fortunately we won’t have to read or listen to his musings on all the bullcrap thats going on these days.

He’d probably have had a aneurism.

    • Is he dead?!
      There you go Miles,
Don’t see what the issue is?
      The cunts dead.
Jesus got him in the end…

  4. Hitchins was a contrarian. So is his brother, whose still going strong.

Hitchins wasn’t right on everything but he always provided good, intelligent entertainment. I honestly don’t t know if his criticisms of Mother Theresa were correct. Suspect there was an element of truth but he might have wildly overstated his case.

    • She was a bitch to work for as stated by volunteers during the 1980’s
A lot of young nuns from convents devoted their lives to her cause in that period

      • ‘but he might have wildly overstated his case’

He overstates the case in the text above in the header pic

‘…responsible for innumerable deaths, and untold suffering, and proud of it’.

        Just too much.

He overstates the case. If he had been reasonable and said the standard of care in these places leaves a lot to be desired. But no

‘She is resoonsible for innumerable deaths, untold suffering, and proud of it.’

Note; ‘innumerable deaths’. So they cannot be counted. ‘Untold suffereing’ so it cannnot be told.

‘And proud of it’ Put a nasty picture of her looking haughty like the above on your book. Hey presto! Mother Teresa is Satan.

      • Yes that’s a sign of a juvenile debator. Overstating the case. So it crumbles.

He was in a debate with Anne Widdecombe and a Cardinal, Stephen Fry on his side.
‘The Catholic Church a force for good in the world?’

First he took much longer (going over his time) to put his case. It dawned on me about 15 minutes in that he was going to go back century by century detailing the ‘crimes of the CC. I remember he got back to somwhere obscure happening in Turkey about 1060. But further back he went. Back to the third an second cebturies. Back as far as the Bible itself.

        They of course won.

  5. Mother Teresa died only a week after Princess Diana so maybe the media was too focused on that to dig up any shit on dodgy donations.

That said, I have been to Calcutta and its a shithole, what was she doing for the last 40 odd years?

As the Indian Jon Snow put it “I have never seen so many lepers in one place”.

    • What was you doing in Calcutta LL?
Your a landscape gardener arent you?
Long way to go for work?
      Wasn’t a holiday was it?

      • Part of a bigger backpacking trip around India, Miserable. Plenty of Rupert’s and Jemima’s culturally appropriating dreadlocks and wearing baggy trousers yah, the cunts! I suppose I could have just gone to Leicester for six months.

      • What can I say, the cold weather in Colwyn Bay is very unforgiving for the casual streaker. At least they don’t point and laugh “Is that it?” in warmer climes.

    • Yep shithole it is
Was talking to a retired seaman and he said in the docks as they we’re walking through there were children locked in cages
He was taking back a bit by the lack of humanity
My own father was there on oil tankers but never told us of things

  6. His Brother Peter makes some good points in his articles but he comes across so unbelievably Pompous and poe faced .

  7. CH could be a bit of a cunt, and I often disagreed with him, but in fairness, he could articulate his case very well. Whatever his faults, he wasn’t dull, and didn’t pull punches. On balance, I miss him.

  8. Every statement he said about that “poisonous Albanian dw**f” was 100% true, he was still a bit of a cunt though

  9. What I heard was Mother Teresa got top of the range private health care and treatment. Yet she denied that treatment to others, saying their illness or poverty was ‘God’s will’.

Don’t know if that’s true or not. But if it is, she comes across as a right cunt.
Mind you, the Vatican loves its hypocrites, doesn’t it?🤔

    • There are also reports she turned down ill people who weren’t of the Catholic persuasion. Just another Jesuit cunt hussling for cash.

      • It’s not so long ago that the Catholic Church was preaching that masturbation is worse than rape, cos at least rape can result in pregnancy… 🙄

      • Certainly longer than 100 years, Mecuntry.

I meant not long in historical terms, when cunts were burned at the stake if they did not believe that wine turns to blood when a priest prays over it, or that the earth sits immovably at the centre of the universe.

When cunts were whipped and had their throats slit for having sex outside marriage.

  10. Hitchins on religion is a pure joy. The poor fools who went against him (priests, imams, rabbis, and other loons and pædohs) were made to look ridiculous. His work on cunts like this grubby, Albanian money-hoarder, journalism, and especially his masterpiece ‘gOD IS NOT GREAT’ are superb.

However, his politics was a bit fuzzy. He attacked Gulf War part 1 (he even had a one-to-one with Charlton Heston) then suddenly capitulated for part 2, subsequently becoming a huge fan of Blair (?!) and even debating religion with him in America.

Nonetheless, his unpicking of the absurdity of religion and its poisonous, cruel agenda is an absolute pleasure.

    • He was one of the few smart enough to realise that being a contrarian brought in the shekels in the 21st century. He would take positions against things just to get book sales and paid to do debates which were fun back in the day, but got stale, then he got cancer and he was one of those guys who acted like he wasn’t scared, it was not a big deal, “don’t pray for me!” but his family would have thought otherwise. He had some brilliant moments on TV where he dropped truth-bombs on sniveling news pundits.

  11. I’ve read a lot of his stuff. I haven’t fact checked but never tend to do that.
A great debater and author. I dunno about all the things he said about Mother T, her travel first class and baptism etc. There was talk she contacted him just prior to her death too?

His father was serving on (I think Belfast) when the Scharnhorst met its end in the Baltic.

  12. Miles, go and look into the criticism of her for yourself. Some seem very justified. Like many Catholic enterprises vast amount lulls of the money she raised never reached the targets the donations were intended for as is usual for the Catholic Church and most churches of any kind the money disappeared into the coffers of said church.

How any Christian organisation thinks a healthy bank balance and well paid clerics relates to the teachings of Christ is a mystery to me.

      • 1. Judge not, that ye be not judged. Doesn’t apply to me because I am a cunt – but you?
        2. What are the criteria, and how can it ever be proved? Because God works in mysterious ways…

      • There’s a question Miles. What is her legacy? What is his?

She was partially a media creation and partly hyped by the Catholic Church. I don’t have a horse in this race. Hitchens was capable of defending himself so I won’t take his corner, the Romanian nun has plenty of people like yourself blindly defending her so no need to take her corner. The question is can you put aside your own bias to give either a balanced examination?

I do wonder how much research you did into the facts about one before launching your attack on the other? I would say both were human and fallible but one has been made a saint and to the devout that makes her pretty much infallible. Not an attack on you Miles but unfortunately dogma dictates your predictable use of attack on one in defence of the other.

      • Imagine if your surgeon said, “I move in mysterious ways” just before your heart by-pass.

      • If I was suffering in a Third World “hospital” being run by clueless nuns, I’d want Norman Bethune to show up, not “Mother” Tere$a.

      • @Sixdog.

I’ve counted them as best I can. He authored 16 books. Those I can find of course. I dont know how many articles he wrote exactly but maybe a 1000? TV programnes say few 5 or 6.
That his physical tangible legacy. Nothing wrong with it. But thst is what he has left us.

        Mother Teresa (from Wikipedia)

In 1950, Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation that had over 4,500 nuns and was active in 133 countries in 2012. The congregation manages homes for people who are dying of HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis. It also runs soup kitchens, dispensaries, mobile clinics, children’s and family counselling programmes, as well as orphanages and schools. Charity centres worldwide, and care for refugees, the blind, disabled, aged, alcoholics, the poor and homeless and victims of floods, epidemics and famine in Asia, Africa, Latin America, North America, Europe and Australia. They have 19 homes in Kolkata (Calcutta) alone which include homes for women, orphaned children and homes for the dying; a school for street children, and a leper colony.’

        Which legacy is the greater?

      • I don’t think copying and pasting a Wiki page counts as mounting a well thought out and researched airtight defence Miles.

The author of the book discussed in this article spent hundreds of hours researching his critique of her and her work.

        https://www.nytimes.com/2016/08/27/world/asia/mother-teresa-critic.html

I don’t think your Wikipedia whitewash is an adequate rebuttal for my original post let alone well researched articles and books.

  13. A professional Windbag…what a grand job…I might give it a whirl…if one or two others on this site haven’t already beaten me to it.

    • Trouble causer Dick.
      Upsetting people for no reason.
Reckon he had a deathbed conversion?
Repentant as he feels the nearing of deaths icy fingers?
      Bet he did!
      Looks the type,
      Soft.

      • Evening,Mis.

I’ve just had a gammon steak for my dinner…I had beans and chips with it…I’m not a great egg fan….what I really don’t understand is people having pineapple with gammon..I once saw some Cunt eating a fried banana….do you think this eating your pudding with your main course is a Southern thing?,,,fucking degenerates.

      • Evening Dick,
        Sounds southern to me.
Ive never had pineapple with anything that I know of?
To me Dick, pineapples are like snow leopards.
I know they exist, just never ate one.
        Suspect theyre for homosexuals?
        And Hollywood qu33rs.

      • I spent an hour today picking and eating brambles…I’ll be shitting through the eye of a needle tomorrow.

      • I think you will find he met his end without becoming a god botherer.
        Sensible fellow.
        Religion DOES poison everything.

    • You’ll have to go to London DFF and I know that means you’ll have to bring your passport and don’t forget your stool
Speakers corner , does it even exist anymore haven’t been near it in 35 years

      • I’ll never go to London again,Mec….I went there in 1974 and didn’t enjoy it then… can’t think that it’ll have improved since.

I stayed with an elderly Aunt..she’d dead now,…left me nowt in her will, greedy old Bag.

      • You’ll need a Star Trek standard translator as well. Fucking shithole. Some great person said “If you have had enough of London you’ve had enough of life” I would suggest “ If you have had enough of life move to London”

  14. The Iraq war or the Gulf war?

He was very much for the Iraq war of 2003.

Of his books i’ve read I preferred his autobiography, Hitch 22. By the time i’d read god Is Not Great the New Atheism movement was a little stale and Sam Harris and Dawkins are not the great minds a lot of their fanboys seem to think.

Anyone who was drinking partners and friends with Clive James and can play silly word games with Martin Amis and Salman Rushdie can’t be all bad, (even if Amis has turned into a knobber).

    • Yeah his position on Iraq was suspect. Probably to gain favour with friends in Washington, for his career or something.

The New Atheism thing was a bit lame. All of those chumps were just riding the wave of cultural dissatisfaction, for profit. Like Jordan Peterson. None of them bought any new wisdom, just bashing others views and feeling smug about it.

I’d love to see his reaction to all the fanboys that worship him. The antifa degenerate types.

  15. Is this an emergency 5pm cunting for a guy who has been dead for almost ten years? He had his moments of brilliance but was also a bellend. He worked for Vanity Fair magazine! Oooh, what an underground rebel! Who the fuck reads that magazine, anyway? Yes, he went after Henry Kissinger (creepy eternal “statesman” cunt), religious fundamentalists, the Royals (mostly cunts), lefty media (cunts) and of course, “Mother” Tere$a of Calcutta which seems harsh, but she was one of those Catholics who truly believed that the more you suffer the better the chance you’ll get into Heaven to see Yahweh and Jesus. She venerated suffering? Not someone I’d want running hospitals, I think we’d all agree.

    • Poor old Theresa, no good deed goes unpunished….
If shed of been a looker shed of been a saint.
But because she looked like a sun dried sultana,
      Everyone sticks the boot in.
Well ive seen the topless photos she did and she was heavenly!
Dont see her black hole though..

      • Her goofy teeth came in handy for playing the strings so she blew Jimi away. Probably blew HIM too, that’s why he REALLY died!

(The way she did the guitar solo left-handed on a right-handed axe for the appropriately named “All Along the Watchtower”, had Jimi in tears – Day Admin)

      • When people heard that Sister Wendy was going to “do Bob Dylan in a hard style” in the recording studio, there was trepidation, but what followed was a landmark in rock music!

      • If Richard Branson had a shave hed be the spit of sister Wendy.
An if he dressed as a nun.
But hes not in the habit..

      • When Mother Theresa snuffed it Elton John provided a suitable tribute song…

        “Sandals in the bin”

      • Elton then did an encore of “Tiny Chancer” while dressed as Marie Antoinette which brought the house down.

  16. Fucking Bible bashers. Superstitious Mumbo jumbo. You may as well stick a bone through your nose and dance round a fire like a cunt.

(That’s all been factored in by Greta, XR and the Great Reset – Day Admin)

  17. Cunting the dead.
    What have we become ?
    On the other hand ………
    Wasn’t that Jesus a right cunt ?
There’s still shenanigans going on today, thanks to him.
    Fucking smart arse.
” Ooooooo, look at me. I can walk on water and turn water into wine ! ”
    Show off.
    No wonder they nailed him.
    Nobody likes a smarty-pants.
    Get To Fuck.

    • Its a shame Hitchens and Theresa are dead.
This could of been settled with a ISAC fight club.
Theresa is lighter,(featherweight) but not timid!
Face like a window cleaners rag,
So not worried about jabs to the face!
And got God as a cornerman.

      Hitchy has a weight advantage.
      But hes soft, easily triggered!
      Gets tearful.
Who’s going to take the belt?

My moneys on Theresa in the fifth round.

      • @Miserable

First you said she looked like a ‘raisin in a napkin’.

And now you say she ‘looks like a sun dried sultana’.

This is no way to speak of someone whose been ‘raised to the altars’.

      • Aye she’ll be an enforcer up there. Seeing everyone stays in line. Poor Christopher will have a bad time of it I think. He better have a good excuse.

  18. “I haven’t read much about the criticisms of her but my I think they would be unjust.”

    Ah, the religious mind.

Hitchens was ace. Got several of his books l

  19. Isn’t it great that words from a guy dead ten years can still freak out the religious.
You would think their faith would be strong enough for them to ignore the musings of one bloke.
That or a “they know not what they do” forgiveness type of thing they so happily boast, yet rarely deliver on.
Not sure what ‘new atheism’ is either. There’s believing or not, I don’t think it became new or sexy, just more of the sheeple waking up, as they say these days.

  20. Some sort of obsession at play here. Perhaps Mother Theresa was the first Catholic charity to actually minister to the poor instead of exploiting them. Who knows? Halleleuja and pass me another choirboy, I seem to have split this one.

  21. Have you done research into these homes and hospitals yourself?
    I thought not.

    Ah the secular atheistic mind-SET.

    • She actually believed that these people should suffer to increase their chances of getting into heaven. That isn’t exactly an obscure fact nowadays Miles.

  22. People act like he died young 62. I mean had he given up alcohol and stubborness of refusing to give up the cancer sticks he might of lived another ten years. Should of switched to mary jane at least I gave up cigarettes 6 years ago and there’s no better feeling

Despite his hit piece on mother Theresa hells angel was it called? clever title I like Hitchens more then I like the papacy and mother Theresa was a slippery Albanian cunt. I simply don’t trust the fuckers all of them are thieves or violent savages
