Hang on a minute: Britain ruled India for nearly 200 years, but the people were not treated as slaves. They were well looked after. Many Muslims fought in British colonial wars and were as British as the British. The natives weren’t sent to other colonies to work without pay. My dad was in India and Malaya as a national serviceman in the 1950s, at the very end of British Colonial Rule. India did pretty well out of the British Empire, thanks to British know-how and the hard working people in India.
