Yeah let’s have another go at old Joe Biden. Makes a change from the BBC and the Labour MP du jour. And why not? If I remember correctly, Hunter Biden was charged with non-payment of taxes for two years. Maybe he was drugged up and forgot, but when it was brought to his attention years later, he paid the taxes, he paid the penalties, he paid the late fees, it was all sorted out. If he’d been just another American citizen, that would have been the end of it. The other charge was failing to fill in a gun licence application correctly. He didn’t tick the box to say he’d taken drugs. The gun in question had never been fired or even loaded. Again, this would have been a minor offence for anyone else, and the fact that he’d applied for a licence in the first place showed that he was trying to do things the right way. I could fly to the States and get myself a loaded gun within a day if I wanted to. So could you.
But the Republicans were still seething about Trump being impeached and couldn’t find anything to pin on old Joe. They wanted retribution so they went after his family. Anything they could find would do, and maximum pressure was exerted by politicians on the judiciary. Joe eventually realized there was only one way to stop the witch hunt and pardoned him. Yes he’d said he wouldn’t, he went back on his word, but why should he have to prove that he’s the only leader with integrity? While Trump is promising to pardon all the rioters who attacked the Capitol, simply because they were breaking the law for him, who can seriously criticize Joe Biden? I’m not talking about pathetic childish insults, I’m talking about serious adult criticism.
