The woke and their ridiculous “cancel” culture.

I’m long since past the point where I get angry at these miserable, puritanical motherfuckers. Now I just pity their genetic inability to have any kind of fun, think rationally or even behave in a normal, adult manner. Every time something or someone comes along and challenges their deranged view of how the world should be, they screech and scream and attempt to “cancel” them.

Their latest target is a new adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel “Dune”. The book and subsequent film and TV adaptations have a definite middle eastern theme running through them. There’s no specific reference to Islam or middle eastern culture in general, but it is there. And that’s the problem. Why? Because CULTURAL APPROPRIATION! That’s why.

The trailer for the new film dropped on YouTube a short while ago, and almost immediately caused a shit storm among the Leftwaffe. You’d think they’d give some credit to the fact that the director, Denis Villeneuve race and gender swapped one of the characters, Dr Keynes, but no. That’s not enough to save it from the Leftwaffe wanting to spoil the enjoyment of actual fans of the story and others by demanding it be cancelled.

To date, NOBODY from the middle east, not a single, Jew, Muslim, Christian or Atheist has complained. That hasn’t stopped the Leftwaffe being offended for them though. Patronising much? And a lot of the cunts are the same people defending Netflix’s paedofest movie, “Cuties”, calling those of us who are disgusted by its content “far right”. So they’re also hypocrites.

After the ass fucking they got over the Adele debacle, you’d think they’d shut the fuck up for at least a while, but no. As the old saying goes, “where there’s no sense, there’s no feeling”. Here’s a radical idea for the Leftwaffe, if you think this movie will offend you, and let’s face it, EVERYTHING offends you fuckers, DON’T FUCKING WATCH IT! And STOP trying to spoil everything for those of us who are able to function as normal human beings.

  2. They’re only happy when they’re pissing everyone else off: that’s their new purpose in their sad little lives.

    On my local radio station someone was complaining about weather forecasts, and how racist they were, suggesting that “black clouds” meant negativity and racial connotations, while bright sunny day with white clouds suggested the opposite.

    So they’re blaming Nature now (can’t call it Mother Nature either)

    As for Dune. Great book, but the original film with Sting was fucking bollocks!

    • Never saw the film, but guessed that it wouldn’t be up to the book, which was addictive. Glad to have that confirmed. I make better scenery in my head than Hollywood does on film, generally speaking. Though Bladerunner could be the exception.

      • Bladerunner and 2049, were visually magnificent, and went fare beyond the scope envisioned on Dick’s book.

        That said, both films were style well above substance, even though I love both, hence my avatar here.

  4. I’d heard about the original Dune. Never saw it and not that interested. Wasn’t the movie out around the time of Close Encounters of the Third Kind? Didn’t see that either. Anyway, with all this fake outrage every time someone or something doesn’t align with the warped world view of these cunts, I wonder how much longer it will be before things start to shift back the other way. Please don’t tell me it’s going to be a generational thing. Not sure I could cope.

    Mrs Yank and I are working our way through the 4 series of The Sweeney on DVD. We turn to each other and roll our eyes about every other minute when something happens or someone says something that today would be cause for outrage and instant cancellation. The racists stuff goes both ways too with some references to “spades” and “honkeys”.

    Mrs Yank has definitely warmed to classic UK telly of yesteryear. We finished all of The Professionals a while ago (which she absolutely loved) and we’ve nearly finished all The Sweeney episodes. So cunters, what should we watch next? Choices are:

    The New Avengers
    Minder
    Survivors (the 1970s original)

    Just about to order the B&W and colour box sets of Callan. Never saw it as a kid but I hear it’s very good. Any other suggestions for 60s/70s/80s action, adventure and mystery British TV shows which are on DVD? Always looking to expand my collection as regular telly is such bollocks these days.

    • The David Lynch version came out in 1984. It’s widely considered both a cult classic and flawed masterpiece. I tend to lean toward the former. It’s problem is that it should have filmed in two parts, but for some reason, Lynch insisted on making it just one movie. And it suffers for it.

      • That’s what I’ve read, Snigger. I think it was on a bit late when I was a kid, so probably wasn’t allowed to see it. I do like Edward Woodward though, so I’m hoping it’ll be awesome. Cheers.

        I do like a good British WW2 flick, especially when the Yanks aren’t involved. Even though they won the war all by themselves. Bless ’em. 😉

      • Yep, I remember that episode. Bodie kept referring to our suntanned friends as spades. Got lip from Cowley and disapproving looks from Doyle. Ended up in hospital being treated by a black nurse. Episode ends with our Bodie taking the black nurse out on a date and a good rogering no doubt.

        Even back then there was a ‘message’, but it was done well without being preachy or OTT.

      • The now banned ‘Klansmen’ episode. On the ‘Mk I’ DVD and one of the best ones they did. Loved the show but I always thought Martin Shaw was a bit of a cunt. The Professionals made him a household name and he moaned about doing it. Not unlike that bellend Daniel Craig with Bond. I thought it was a great series. Where The Jungle Ends is another great one. With David Suchet as a complete cunt called Krivas.

        Some top fanny in The Professionals and all. Pamela Salem, Pamela Stephenson, Gabrielle Drake, Brigitte Kahn, Sara Douglas, Sarah Neville, Diane Keen, Vicki Michelle and a few others.

        Got The Persuaders on DVD. One of the best theme tunes ever. I loved Roger Moore (not like that you perv). I collect his movies too. The Man Who Haunted Himself is decent if anyone’s interested.

    • For yet more cynical espionage capers I’d recommend The Sandbaggers. All the eastern bloc scenes are filmed in late 1970s northern British cities and appear totally authentic.

      Minder is good. More comedy drama than say, The Sweeney, but some of the early episodes can be surprisingly hard hitting, sometimes literally. Arguably went on past its sell-by date but never descended into rank sentimentality the way Only Fools and Horses did. Arfur’s relatives might babble on about Fam-ur-lee, but the man himself never gave a fuck about his nearest and dearest, unless there was an opportunity to exploit them.

      • I agree Stan, Minder did go on too long. I recall Dennis Waterman saying he quit the show because he felt it became Arthur Daley’s comedy hour. I can see what he means.

        I never did warm to OFAH. There’s something about David Jason that I find irritating in the extreme.

  10. I read the novels some years ago. They are about an alien desert culture so naturally there are parallels with Arabs. Not appropriation, imagination. Planet of the Apes seemed to get away with it.

    • The fault is in the beholder’s imagination, perhaps. Dune could have equally well been referring to the Atacama, the Mojave or the Gobi deserts as the Empty Quarter (the clue’s in the name…) Desert people are hard bastards living on the edge, unlike town Arabs.

  16. The original Dune was ruined by that cunt Sting. He was a pile of crap in it. I liked The Police, but what a cunt Sting was and is.

    As for the new one? It will be ‘reimagined’ woke turd like Westworld, Star Trek, Star Wars, Sherlock, and the crap de la crap that is Doctor Who.

    • I’ve tried to watch ‘Dune’ twice, and twice I’ve given up. That’s because it’s shit. David Lynch achieved greatness with ‘Eraserhead’ and hasn’t done anything since that’s worth watching. Just one man’s opinion.
