Best LFC side ever?! Better than Shankly 74 (Keegan, Toshack, Smith, Callaghan), Paisley 77-83 (Dalglish, Hansen, Souness, Heighway etc), Dalglish 86-90 (Barnes, Beardsley, Rush)?   1. Good cunting Norman, Pep Granola is a cheque book cunt of a manager. All that best Liverpool side ever bollocks is said to make himself look good if and when he wins the league. This Liverpool side although playing great football and being the only team able to keep a challenge going against Man Citeh have won fuck all (unlike the great side you mentioned) and thanks to midget Messi and Quatari oil money we’ll probably win fuck all this season.
    Cmon Brendan show some ‘great character’ and get a draw for Leicester and help us out… Your our only hope.

        Now before I begin, let me say I am not deliberately trying to bait or upset you personally. The fact is I and many other football fans loathe, hate and despise Liverpool Football Club for at least 3 very specific reasons. I don’t know how old you are or how long you have followed LFC. If you know some or any of the following, by all means retort.

        1. Hillsborough.
        Going to see a football match and losing your life is an awful and tragic thing. No question. What angers the rest of us about that terrible event is how the Scousers have consistently pointed the finger at everyone else but themselves. They paint themselves as completely blameless and nothing but the victims. Glossing over the fact a huge number of ticketless LFC fans showed up and tried to get into the ground illegally. Their presence and their behavior contributed to a dangerous situation which ultimately got out of hand. Yes, officials on the day made some catastrophic mistakes which lead to people losing their lives, but overall it was accidental. Nobody set out to do anyone any harm. It was not premeditated, vicious, callous or deliberate.

        2. Heysel.
        On the other hand, when a bunch of LFC fans went on the rampage in the Heysel stadium and murdered many Juventus fans, that was premeditated, vicious, callous and deliberate. That did not happen by accident. How about some justice for the 39, rather than harping on and on and on and on and on about the 96? As a result of the actions of LFC’s fans, all English teams were banned from European competition for 5 years. At that time my team, Spurs were upper mid-table level at best. A good cup run was generally as good as it got back then, so qualifying for Europe was a very big deal. Spurs were denied the opportunity to play in Europe 3 times during the ban which was imposed because of the actions of LFC’s fans. As Rafa Benitez would say, FACT! LFC have never compensated any of the teams denied European competition income and yet they scream bloody murder about compensation for the 96 fans who died at Hillsborough.

        3. Media Bias.
        This was the subject of a cunting a little while ago. For some reason the sports MSM show incredible and unrelenting bias in favour of LFC. It’s so consistent as to be nauseating. I’ll give you just one example. Whenever LFC are featured on TV for a live home game, the broadcasters ALWAYS have time to inflict yet another torturous rendition of YNWA on the viewer with sweeping panoramic views of the Kop in full voice. No other team is afforded the same privilege. For everyone else it’s the teams coming out and lining up, maybe the handshake bollocks, then off to commercial or back to the studio only to return to the game just in time for kick off.

        My quip about LFC fans roughing up the locals in Barcelona earlier this week ACTUALLY HAPPENED! I mentioned it on ISAC because it’s yet another example of how some LFC fans behave when representing English clubs in Europe. It’s embarrassing.

        Of course I could be imagining all this and have got this completely wrong. If so, I’m sure you’ll set me and the record straight. Cheers – IY.

      • You have a very jaundiced view of Liverpool FC. and I doubt anything I say would change your view. It might be driven by jealousy, I don’t know. All clubs have their share of unwanted yobbish fans and Liverpool have no more or less than any other big club. I just don’t know where you get this idea from of mainstream media bias. I just don’t see it and I follow them on a variety of media. Your point on Hillsborough is completely fallacious. The supporters on the day were completely exonerated. If you believe your version of the events then I would suggest you stop reading the Sun. If you believe their claim that fans were picking the pockets of dead spectators as the Sun claimed, then you will probably believe anything. I followed the enquiries on Hillsborough each day and I consider myself well informed. I doubt if you did. Heysel was a shameful day which I will not defend. Most Liverpool fans would say the same but you are stigmatising the club for the actions of a minority. Every club has a minority of these lowlife which they would like to disown and thankfully most clubs in recent times have been able to do so.
        I don’t like talking about football on this site mainly because I see it as a release from what is a trivial area in the great scheme of things. I also believe that the majority of IsAC’s don’t give a fuck about football. Consider this a truce IY.

        Strange how such a high profile and high demand game like an FA Cup semi-final would not attract a single LFC fan without a ticket not hoping to get in one way or another. And since there were no ticketless fans not adding to an already congested situation, their mere non-presence could not have aggravated the turnstile issue in any way – because they weren’t there.

    You may well be right but always difficult to compare the greats of different time periods.

    I like to follow Tottenham in a half hearted way and see how they are doing, but never go to matches, just highlights. When compared what I see today the levels of skill and fitness I see are incredible and far greater than to the great Spurs sides of decades ago.

    Admit it would be interesting how the two would compare if they played against one another but suspect the players of today would out perform the players of yesterday by some considerable margin.

    But you could well be right in this instance, Liverpool were a fantastic side.

    Disappointingly something we will never know with footballing sides and individual sportsmen and women over the decades in their respective sports.

  3. At least with the teams back in the day, you could remember the names of the players – primarily because 99% of them were British!

    These days, you’ll be lucky to find 2 or 3 in a team; and trying to remember some of the names of foreign players is almost impossible.

Man Blue’s B team could win the league. To NOT win the Premiership would be a huge negative and yet they nearly did, chased all the way by Liverpool. It was hilarious to watch the Yiddîsh North Londoners kick them out of the CL.

    Anyway, I remember the Liverpool and Manchester sides of old. Back in the day when the town names had some connection with the players. Fuck, when the country had some connection with the players. When the managers had some connection with the country.
    Interesting to note that the players Norman mentions were all Brits. Throw in the odd Dane or mad Rhodesian and that was for me, the golden age. Add managers with character – Doc, Cloughie, Shanks, Mercer etc. Great days. How have we come to the pile of shite we have now? Sky I suppose.

        I do not listen to the news any more, particularly as there is so much misreporting from one minute to the next. It did my head in so switched it off.

        If I required to play a further part in the Brexit proceedings I will re-engage, if not fuck all I can do about anything and refuse to let it boil my piss any more than it has done already.

I had to listen to some utter bollocks being spouted by Danny ‘never amounted to much’ Higginbotham during his awful co-commentary the other day. He was refuting the ‘cheque book manager’ tag by saying Pep’s improved potential world class players and therefore he’s a great coach and doesn’t depend on buying world class finished product.

    The irony was as tragic as it was funny.

    I guess it did not occur to him that if he’s dealing with “potential” world class, he’s already got the makings of an outstanding footballer. Now, if Pep had a track record of taking useless two-left-feet no-hopers and molding them into top grade professionals, then fine. But that’s not the case. So, Danny you’re a cunt and Pep, you’re a cheque book manager. And a cunt.

Klopp will probably go down as the most spectacular flopp in Liverpool managers history. 4 or 5 seasons in he has blown a 7 point lead this season to mediocre sides like Everton, Leicester, Man Utd, and lost to a midget in Barcelona. He’s not won a trophy, yet sacrifices the cups to gamble on the league or European cup.

    The serial bridesmaid I expect if he keeps his job he’ll be wearing a white dress and a veil next season.
