A couple of years in a German PoW camp – where our luckier aircrew ended up, rather than embedded in a Saxon field – would sort the scumbags’ ideas out, perhaps. The conditions were abysmal, generally, and nothing like the Hollywood version. My old man experienced this, and his wrecked digestion and loathing of all things German lasted the rest of his life.
Wish I could get across that the memorial isn’t to the policy of area bombardment (which we didn’t initiate) but to the thousands of poor young sods who had to carry it out, as well as every other task Bomber Command undertook.
We should have left some of the wrecked East End of London as it was, rather than redeveloping it for bankers, as a further reminder.

My family gave so much in this war, Uncle had a gold caterpillar lapel pin, shot down many times protecting bomber crews but got back up there to protect the nation. One of my school teachers was a navigator in a Wellington bomber, gave so much and kept giving by becoming a teacher. I can count 4 close relatives that didn’t come back. My dear old dad was a Squabbling Bleeder in the last unpleasantness, awarded the DFC and bar piloting Lancasters. As with most of his generation, he didn’t like to talk about what happened but what little I do know was absolutely chilling.
I wish we could transport these vandalising cunts back in time to sit beside him and the rest of his crew when they were getting strafed by fighters and bombarded with flack. I doubt it would “teach them a lesson” but there’s an off chance they could have taken a bullet or stopped some shrapnel.

Defacing this particular memorial really boils my piss, to quote an esteemed fellow cunter. My great-uncle Tommy was a wireless operator/rear gunner in the 49 Squadron. In 1942, his Hampden bomber was shot down over Holland and went into a lake. Of all of the crew, his body was the only one never found. He was 23 years old.
There is no punishment sufficient enough for these vicious, vacuous, unappreciative fucking cunts who did this. They live in a snowflake society that offers them everything they want on a fucking plate and they have never had to know the hardship of war and make the sacrifices that people of their age had to then. In my former career, my last posting was in London and I lived next to the RAF Museum in Hendon. On of the most fascinating exhibits is a Lancaster bomber rear gun turret. So what? Well, anyone who has flown in modern aircraft will be used to the idea that the cabin is heated and pressurised. Not for the crew of a Lancaster bomber – the turret, although shielded by Perspex (a British invention), was open to the air. The poor rear gunner not only faced death but was fucking cold too. All the gender-bending, whining, SJW snowflake cunts should be made to view this exhibit, Clockwork Orange style.
The RAF museum underwent a revamp before I left London. It’s probably like the Imperial War Museum now – an apology for war and pretends nothing bad happens during conflict. Cunts
