I have more or less given up on the BBC apart from the 0500 news summary and some days the 1300hrs. The only time I spend with the BBC is 4 Extra for the Goon Show and the occasional repeats of Round The Horne (always prefaced with remarks about ‘dated attitudes and language”.
Wireless Four is a dykes delight with “strong” wimminz in Wimminz Hour – still wittering on about Wimminz Lib sixty years later, and lots of documentaries about the plight of fuzzy wuzzies and how hard quares find it (I would have thought they would have preferred it hard). Listening to the Today programme on W4 this morning. MrsW wanted to hear what Rachel from complaints had to say from the steps of No 9 Downing Street. It was, I think, an unprecedented occasion and had been trumpeted earlier on in the wretched programme. They gave us the first 2 or 3 minutes of the speech and then went back to the studio to hear not one but 2 Labour MPs give their version of what was happening. Not even a pretence of balance.
The Telegraph website had it on live. Rachel looked absolutely fucked, pale and gaunt and not at all well. I had hoped that she was going to announce her resignation and for the sake of her health (although personally I don’t give a tinker’s fart) she should go.
