Steve Coogan (6)

Went to Hollywood thinking he was the next Peter Sellers. That worked out well didn’t it Steve.

And another nomination for a Beeb acolyte. Steve Coogan and his tiresome cashcow, Alan Partridge.

Saw some of the latest series of ‘This Time With Alan Partridge’. And, as expected, it was unfunny woke BBC drivel of the highest order. Maybe Partridge was funny two decades ago, when he was a social misfit and an ambitious but inept broadcaster.

Now he’s just an old character who has been done to death and is doing the BBC’s bidding. Not that old characters can’t be funny (Alf Garnett, Albert Steptoe, Grandad Trotter), but shoehorning someone who was once an awkward and tactless character into the sanitised woke era (and especially on the BBC) is cringeworthy.

Partridge has gone from being an odd and unusual man alone (The early travel tavern series) to the epitome of the white English gammon oaf. He is now Alan Partridge in name only.

Now, he is just a vehicle to spread the word that all white middle aged English men are ignorant, racist, sexist, offensive and Brexit voting idiots. Coogan himself has more or less admitted to this, and of course this is encouraged by the BBC.

There are many woke moments in the show (bolshy women and all that). But the scene (Series 2 Episode 6) where Alan has to explain away old photos of himself blacked/browned up is the gruesome nadir of this woke propaganda.

The whole scene is engineered simply so they can say ‘Black Lives Matter’ at the end of it. Doctor Who and Countryfile spreading BLM propaganda is bad enough. But now even comedy has to have the BLM anti-white ‘message’, and Coogan and his creation are helping it along. From once genuinely innovative and funny character to woke BBC lackey. Alan Gordon Partridge RIP (Coogan you cunt).

  1. Coogan and the BBC deserve each other. But they don’t deserve the largesse that the public provides them with.
Will the government defund the BBC ?
    Will it fuck.
It’s the biggest and most effective propaganda machine they’ve got.
There are legions of weapons grade cunts like Coogan working for it.
Expect more Burn Loot Murder bullshit from cunts like this.
    Much more.
The Vicar of Dibley can Fuck Off too.
The fat woke lefty lard arse .
    Get To Fuck.

    • Excellent points, Jack. If the spineless jellyfish won’t defund that crowd of lying, hypocritical, Marxist cunts, we’ll just have to do it ourselves. And if everyone stops paying the telly tax, they’ll be fucked.

  2. I saw Coogan once in Around the World in 80 Days but have never once seen him as Alan Partridge.

  3. Partridge shoot the fucker wrap in fatty bacon roast and serve with thyme and seasoned vegetables 🌶. Should find plenty of those at the bbc. Full of em.

  4. Like so many cunts at the BBC Coogan is nothing more than a smug arrogant one-trick pony cunt.

He has made his cash-pile from yes, a genuinely funny Alan Partridge show back in the late 90s early 00s. But now he’s made his money and garnered some form of celebrity, he thinks he’s Billy Big Bollocks, and can dictate to people what they should and shouldn’t be doing.

He has the full backing of the BBC of course, otherwise he would have cancelled or kicked out of town ages ago. As a consequence he will continue to be the same old smug cunt relying on his alter-ego and not much else to make sure he is still relevant.

In reality he is a cunt. And a needy cunt at that.

    • These people…

“They all laughed when I said I’m going to be a comedian…

      Well, they’re not laughing now!”

    • Mike@
Nothing says funny like a monkey shot from a cannon.

      Herschel Krustovsky

    • I like Stewart Lee his character is of a bitter intellectual who looks down on people. At the same time he’s taking the piss out of the pseudo intellectuals that are his target audience. He’s an inverted Al Murray.

  5. As much as I detest Coogan, he was superb in Philomena, that film is a work of art, but he’s still a cunt!!!

  6. Partridge was one of the BBC’s best comedy characters for years when he was the chatshow and radio host, unfortunately Coogan has made the mistake of going on too long…I managed about 5 minutes of his latest offering,it was utter shite. Nothing to do with his politics…it just wasn’t funny.

So many comedy series go on past their prime…in a way I was glad when Early Doors packed in after 2 series before it got a chance to go stale..really liked it.

    • Morning Dick totally agree, Coogan has absolutely rinsed this character dry. He has enough dosh to retire, especially after abusing the furlough scheme. Get your pipe and slippers Steve…..hang on a minute that’s a bit Alan Partridge.

    • Absolutely Squire. Early Doors was fucking brilliant, made the more so because they packed it in after 2 series a la Fawlty Towers.

  7. The original Partridge stuff (Knowing me knowing you and then I’m Alan Partridge) are absolute classics, particularly the travel tavern series.

Anything and everything Partridge since then has been shite. And got worse. I kept watching all the new stuff until the last thing that came out (can’t remember what it was called) and just didn’t bother.

Even if you were once great, if you keep bringing out shite, nobody will bother anymore. Doesn’t matter how good you once were.

Coogan’s ‘credit’ ran out years ago. The BBC only persist with him because he has gone full anti white male woke. And he only brings out stuff like that because he knows he can’t write anything funny anymore. He knows going woke will keep him on the BBC gravy train. Somewhat ironic, considering some of Partridge’s comments.

  8. Talking of going woke like Coogan with Partridge, my wife and I were stunned after watching a decent whodunnit recently called ‘Innocent’ on ITV (huge spoiler coming).

The killer was the only gay in the series (although you don’t find out he’s a gay until the final episode).

    I was fucking gobsmacked.

    Well done ITV.

  9. I wonder if cunts like Partridge actually give a fuck about woke related causes?

I don’t honestly believe that they don’t give two fucks about the BLM etc.

Mark Steel and a few other ‘old lefties’ may be an exception to this way of thinking, but the vast majority have perhaps even stylised themselves to fit the modern BBC agenda. Cunts like that Russel Howard for example, (anyone else want to knock his block off?).

Just play the BBC ‘game’ and you can keep stuffing your pockets with silver.

It doesn’t matter if your material is a load of unfunny old tripe, as long as it fits the BBC agenda the cunts will renew your contract.

Just keep churning out shit that ticks as many of our boxes as possible, and rest assured Auntie will wafting her chequebook under these cunts noses every month.

    What a load of bollocks.

    • I loved the original Partridge.
      Also liked his Paul Calf.
But Coogan is a pretentious fucker.
The type of bloke to quote philosophers, thinks hes a wine connoisseur, a cravat wearer.
Shame because even though I hate his champagne socialism I acknowledge hes got talent (spitting image etc)
Ive not seen the latest Partridge,
And wont be any time soon.

  10. A comprehensive and thoughtful cunting. Like many other later-to-become-cunts, Coogan debuted on Radio 4 – in his case, On The Hour, coproduced by Armando Ianucci. It was funny. Also on R4, Knowing Me, Knowing You, which was still fairly funny but also persistently irritating – as perhaps Coogan intended. Radio 4 comedy was still funny then, but the best of it (Little Britain being another example) was whipped off and stuck on the box, to be replaced by progressively more shite radio fare.

From occasional newspaper and youtube samplings I can confirm that Coogan is now a tired and formulaic act. But it might be pointed out that he is at least consistent in embracing wokery. He was never BNP material by any means.

  11. He was ok many years ago as the Calf character. A sort of young MNC. Otherwise utterly unfunny. A whited up Nish Kumar.

  12. Coogan has become an utter bore. A self-loathing, lefty preacher eager to stuff white privilege and BLM fuckstickery down the throats of the nation. He hasn’t been funny for 20 years now. It’s a shame because he’s a good character actor. His recent portrayal of Stan Laurel was excellent.

  13. Most of the better Coogan stuff in the 90s was down to his writers. Marber, ianucci, baynham and since they left to do other things he’s basically on his own and it shows.

He didn’t even invent partridge, Richard herring did.

  14. I liked him in The Day Today with Chris Morris Who made the best thought provoking comedy ever with Brass Eye and Jam . (What became of him ? )
Steve Cougan has become an unfunny BBC Shill

  15. I hated this cunt with a passion from the word go together with earlier shitbags like Ben Elton. Deeply unfunny, lefty woke shite of the deepest brown shade with the aroma to go with it. Step under a bus you cunt and a half and do us all a favour. Or take a toaster into the bath with you.
On a lighter note I had tea and toast with honey for breakfast today together with orange juice. Very tasty.

  16. Long past his sell by date. However as I don’t pay the telly tax I sleep well at night knowing I don’t fund this cunt, Linekar and the rest.

Coogan should bugger off and make cruise ship commercials like that unfunny Welsh ‘this is the life’ wanker, Rob Brydon.

In fact they should both be on a Covid cruise. That’d show em.

    Unfunny cunts.

    • Be careful what you wish for-he did 2x series with Rob Brydon, called the trip.
Having never heard of Brydon, I watched a few episodes and was shocked that there is someone working in television who is more of a cunt than Coogan, complete with a face I would never tire of punching.

Agree that Coogan was excellent as Stan Laurel, as was his Tony Wilson.

  17. Saxondale was amusing.
But what he said about Brexit leave voters he has been banned in my house.
    A complete CUNT!

  18. There was some bloke on the TV the other day, he ran a number of comedy clubs, talking about the problem with comedy in the woke world. He said that in the clubs it is a little easier for the comedians to offend as people who buy a ticket and go to a live set understand what to expect.

He talked about the woke desperately looking to be offended with the keyboard warriors trolling through historical content hoping to find something that may impact someone they don’t like, offence archeology to cancel comedy.

Coogan is a cunt, comedy should be used to poke fun at the agenda not promote it.

  19. He was surprisingly genial in Philomena and played a good one. I just don’t understand this overweening need to lecture us, the little people, on Coogan’s World of Right On politics.

I think there is a groundswell concensus on here that Coogan is a whopper cunt. The figures speak for themselves.

    • He was also superb as Stan Laurel in ‘Stan and Ollie’. He nailed the mannerisms, and esp. the voice, to perfection.
There’s no doubt he’s got talent. Pity he’s shown himself to be such a snotty, Remoaning left cunt.

  20. I for one really like Alan. He is what I am now turing in to. But the time has come for Alan to retire from TV to a cottage in North Norfolk. Stick to his radio show with Sidekick Simon. Maybe Lynne can pop round twice a week to clean for him. Michael can be his handyman.

  21. Yet another champagne socialist, Corbyn loving, anti-Brexit, BBC cunt who despises capitalism whilst becoming a multi millionaire.

  22. I do appear to be very much in the minority but happen to think that Steve Coogan is extremely talented as an individual.

Should probably include that I don’t like his politics and suspect in all likelihood wouldn’t much like him much as a person either.

  23. Liked Alan Partridge 20 years ago (Knowing me Knowing you and the subsequent 2 series on the back of that) and quite liked Coogan in Saxondale.

He also made an appearance as a shrink in Curb your Enthusiasm which turned out to be one of Larry David’s funnier episodes of the whole series.

The recent This Time on the beeb however was fucking woke drivel at best.
Pandering to every common denominator of modern day anti white and anti Brexit bias.

His performance as Stan Laurel was woke infested virtue signalling crap for the 20 minutes I could persevere with as well.
Babbling on about Mussolini bombing poor brown people in Africa.
Did Stan Laurel ever call out Benito Mussolini’s racist/white male privelige campaign in Eritrea or is it just Coogan being a woke cunt.

    Good nom. Well cunted.

    • Too right, Herman. That’s what I hate about Coogan. He has to put his ‘beliefs’ (i.e: virtue signaling) into every fucking thing he does. Stan Laurel as a woke campaigner before woke was invented? What a joke.

And although he makes out that Partridge is anti-woke, the fact is he is totally woke. Partridge is used a stick to beat white, middle aged, heterosexual, patriotic British men with.

Coogan looks down on anyone who voted for Brexit. That is arrogant and insulting enough, but to use it for a very famous comedy character on TV for BBC propaganda purposes? That shows what a complete and utter cunt he really is.

Anyone have Tom O’ Connor in the dead pool?
