I remember in 1990, The Stone Roses put out a new single ‘One Love’. T-Shirts with the original over art were printed. But they were withdrawn before they went on general sale. This was because do gooding right on cunts screamed that it was a swastika. This was unintentional and the band were known for their anti-fascist views. Still, fearing some ‘offended’ nutter might injure or kill a fan wearing the ‘Nazi’ T-Shirt, the band tore the artwork up and had that on the records and T-Shirts instead. Battles can be fought on social media by people who never have to fear a smack in the mouth.
This phenomenon was very noticeable during the battle of Brexit. On the one hand they were saying that we must respect the rule of Parliament over the mob (to leave voting majority) and they then proceeded to pretend that making the most noise on social media was actually what should count when it came time for parliacunt to vote.
