I would have agreed with you but one Saturday afternoon, about 5 years ago, in the East Midlands small town where I live the High Street was taken over by these people, centreing on the local working men’s club. All dressed in a black T shirt uniform with far right insignia. It was unnerving and I felt for our local newsagents and chippy, run by decent people. I was off to take the dogs for a walk and they had cleared off by the time I got back. There were, of course, no police about.
You may have seen an episode of The Crown on Netflix where the country is going down the pan under ‘Darling Harold’ and Mountbatten (a prize twat if the Alan Brooke diaries are to be be believed) was going to take over the country. I think the Far right has been a bit of a bogeyman ever since but if there is a threat it will come from the working sectors of society not the aristocracy.
