Letting Agents are long overdue for a nomination to ISAC.
Visited one recently – included amongst the long list of up front charges, was a ‘check in’ and ‘check out’ fee. In other words, an inventory fee when you move in and again when you move out.
So being the logical person that I am, I queried why I should have to pay an inventory fee on moving in, when the previous tenant had just paid the same fee on moving out, especially since the inventory would not change between his and my occupancy. I was met with a blank look. Then I queried the need for their £50 + VAT ‘miscellaneous admin charges’, and asked what was covered, which wasn’t already covered by all the other exorbitant fees. Again, a blank look from the up-herself, designer spec wearing, twat behind the desk. Thieving barstewards, the lot of them.

Hear hear! I am a landlord, and my letting agent is a useless, reactive arsemop who always has a ready defence waiting to justify them not doing their job properly.
Although they are very good at invoicing me for fees – in fact they are the very best I have come across for this.

Good cunting Mystic. In 2016 a certain South Coast letting agent went tits up and because they put the tenant’s security deposits in to their own account, most of the monies were never refunded. Result was that when the tenants came to move, the landlords had to pay the deposits back to their tenants. I was lucky and spotted that the agent had gone bust, just a week before the window for claiming closed. What a fucking rigamarole though, having to find out who the receivers were and write, reminding them of their legal duties at their winding up meeting, that they had to pay back the security deposits first. Other tenants and landlords in the apartment block were not so lucky and having not lodged their claims in time, lost out.
If you are a landlord, always use the gov deposit scheme, its the safest, it protects the tenant too. Fuck the agents, rip off ratbag cunt parasites!

Most front office “professionals” in most industries don’t know jack shit about what they slinging or why exactly. ANd I’m not just talking about receptionists (the medical ones, at least, have been separately covered and cunted). They usually have “Associate” or “Partner” somewhere in their title and – nowdays, at least- are under 30, arrogant, and what passes for stylish in modern cunt fashion and are present only as a glorified form of a salescunt- to seal the deal as quickly as possible (though that’s unfair to those dwindling few salescunts who really know their shit).

A greedy ‘profession’ as it describes the university- and technical college rejects to be found representing it in its unceasing search for money for doing fuck-all, both from property owners and their hapless tenants.
