  9. They say history repeats itself and I hope it is repeating itself now.

    Tsar Nicholas II attempted to distract his country from its chronic social problems by pursuing Russian aggrandisement first in the Russo-Japanese War of 1905, which ended in abject humiliation for Russia, and then in WWI which it joined primarily to extend it’s empire southward and seize Constantinople from the crumbling Ottoman Empire.

    In both wars inexperienced and unwilling soldiers and conscripts were pushed beyond endurance in a conflict they did not believe in. Discipline broke down in the Russian army and at home and the Bolsheviks were able to capitalise on this chaos to seize power.

    Is something similar happening now? There are reports of many Russian soldiers breaking down, fleeing the conflict, sabotaging their own military vehicles rather than fight. Many are reported as saying they have been lied to by the Russian government. There is also unrest in Russia, economic turmoil and widespread anti-war protests to the extent that Putin is apparently considering martial law.

    The parallels with the dying days of Tsarist Russia are stark. Putin will be well aware of this.

    Of course we can’t guarantee the same outcome or, if Putin falls, that he will be replaced by anyone better.

    Just food for thought.

  11. Another thing I saw yesterday was a video produced in Russia, containing English text, so it was obviously for impressionable western eyes. It was about Ukraine and the massacres they had been committing in the Donbas region. It was heavy stuff, and contained lingering shots of people that had been killed in horrific circumstances.
    As this was not western mainstream media I can imagine many of the afflicted citing it as proof, however some of the dead were victims of cartel violence in Mexico, nothing to do with Ukraine. They just used these graphic images of poor unfortunate victims to further a lie.
    There is no excuse for this Russian aggression.

    • The situation in Donbas took a back seat for seven/eight years probably because the rebels (who seem to be on the right side in virtually all other conflicts) were on the wrong side 😂

  13. I’m far from a conspiracy theorist but I do have to say that I think the US has played an absolute blinder here & capitalised on Mad Vlad’s power-crazed meglomanic personality.

    They’ve goaded him into this to some extent; the constant warnings that he was about to launch an attack, the assertion VERY early on that NATO would not intervene, either with boots on the ground or command of the skies, both of which could have stopped this in it’s tracks. When the intel said the Russian’s were building up forces on the border, a movement of numerous squadrons into Poland with a mobilisation of the rapid reaction force would have skewed Vlad’s focus somewhat. But no, they let the snowball roll & then even Vlad helped ’em out with his stupid nuclear retaliation threats if anyone intervened.

    So ultimately, the Ukranians have found out what the underside of the bus looks like, the West is in the process of fucking the Russian economy over big-time & the US has avoided becoming overtly embroiled; talk about a win-win situation. I’m willing to bet a £ to a pinch of shit, that a discussion was had that went along the lines, ‘If we play this right, his ego will ensure he fucks himself up & we can fuck their economy up’. The unfortunate thing is that the Ukranians have to eat a lot of shit, but we did give them some weapons (& more than a few candlelit vigils & mealy-mouthed supporting statements), but the truth remains that those poor bastards are bearing the brunt of this while Sleepy Joe gets a round of applause, Boris looks like a thieving cunt caught in the headlights (yet again) & Flabbott get’s amn opportunity to ‘misspeak’ (yet again.).

        Quite correct, Ruff. My mother was from a Russian Jewish family. She was completely non-religious, regarding religion (including the Jewish religion) as a huge con and nonsense. She still described herself as Jewish though.

        I would say that most Jewish communities in Europe down the years have intermarried and mixed with the native populations, particularly in Eastern Europe. This intermixing probably took place many generations ago, even before Christianity arrived in those countries. I’m sure Russian Jews have mixed with the native Russian population. You can see it in the looks – hence many Jews being fair skinned, fair haired and even blue eyed, which is not the norm for a Semetic people.

    • I’ve seen nothing so far, only footage that was shared was from a flight simulator (DCS). There is no concrete evidence of it being one person, could be a few, but the Russians have lost aircraft in dogfights so there is someone with a kill or two.
      Just as in every other war in history, there will be over claiming, friendly fire incidents, and accidental civilian deaths, caused by both sides. Its inevitable, inescapable.
      War is hell.

  22. Seems that Putin is intentionally taking aim at Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (the largest in Europe) with conventional rockets and gunfire.

    Fortunately the fire has been brought under control but no know how much damage has been done, or if there’s more to come.

    The Czech Republic also announced it is sending almost 500 troops to Slovakia in order to bolster NATO’s eastern flank of its Central European countries.

    None of this bodes well for anyone. If that nuclear reactor is hit again under a barrage of missiles then who the hell needs nuclear weapons when a reactor can do something just as devastating. (This will play well into the hands of the eco-warriors for anyone suggesting a return to nuclear energy is a good alternative to renewables!)

    NATO troop movements in the Russian borders is definitely not a good sign as it may irritate Putin into thinking that NATO is trying to spread eastwards preventing any Russian movement into former Soviet countries.

They reigned over one of the very worst eras of British history where they colluded in destabilising and murdering people whose countries were no threat to us nor had invaded us. They caused the decline of our culture, the destruction of our industries and the worst crimes against the British people in our illustrious thousands of years of history.

    RT has definitely gone from Sky Channels and Freeview, nothing to do with ofcom but the feed comes from EU who have chopped it.

    • I watched some RT last weekend with a friend. Fuck me it’s dreadful. There’s no need to ban it, no one would watch it anyway.

      Al-jizz is still perfectly acceptable though, of course.

  27. Considerably enhanced Western aerial activity atm. Includes B-52s and a lot more surveillance especially to the South. Maybe shelling the nuclear reactor wasn’t such a good idea, or maybe we’re watching a landing operation from the Black Sea?

    • The murdering cunts have just overrun a second nuclear reactor – third if you count Chernobyl. No concern for the wider consequences apparent.
