  1. Whatever happens in Ukraine, the courage shown by the Ukranian people and their President is something I doubt that we’d see from many Western nations and their leaders

    • Just been looking at some of the photos of Ukranian refugees fleeing the country….mainly women and children….rather different to the boat-loads of Gucci-wearing,mobile-phone wielding,fighting-age men washing on up these shores after fleeing their war-ravaged countries.

  3. Reading some articles in this morning’s Telegraph, and in particular the timing of Putin’s invasion.

    Commentators have suggested Putin did what he did purely because of Biden’s unwillingness to take Putin’s previous threats about Ukraine and other former USSR countries seriously. And that Biden’s foreign policy as POTUS is seen as feeble, inconsistent and gutless.

    The Afghanistan deal to withdraw Allied forces from the country was signed by Trump and the Taliban back in 2019/20. But when Biden came to power he executed the withdrawal chaotically bordering on the shambolic, (not least handing over billions of dollars of military hardware to the ragheads.)

    And this resonated around the world, giving credence to Biden’s disinterest in a tough “don’t fuck with us” foreign policy, especially relating to conflict.

    Putin saw this weakness, and may explain why he has fucked over Ukraine now rather than much earlier under Trump’s watch. Trump was a liability and a buffoon at times, but the one thing Putin feared was his unpredictability.

    Trump was difficult to read, and therefore difficult to deal with. Had Putin attacked Ukraine under Trump the outcome could have been the same as we’re seeing now. But on the other hand given Trump’s randomness he could have unleashed hell on Putin either by economic and/or military means!

    Reagan was in his 70s during his POTUS tenure, and even though he was losing his marbles, he was still feared by many, especially through his famous “Peace Through Strength” mantra during the Cold War years.

    Biden will be pushing 80 soon, and despite his foreign-policy experience, he is now seem as a predictable, bumbling lightweight not fit for purpose on the world stage, and certainly not as leader of the Free World!

    Putin saw this glaring vulnerability, and now here we are…

If Ukraine had joined the EU, the Ukrainians would have been forced to undergo an enriching, vibrant invasion of Islamists and Africans taking over their country, with punishments and imprisonment inflicted upon Ukrainians by their own government for airing any objection to the invasion they didn’t want, didn’t vote for, were never asked about, and were forced to pay for in money, land, housing, school places, health care, jobs, social fragmentation and political instability. Then, were they ever afterwards to escape the EU, they would have found that their political leaders had become thoroughly addicted to the same habit, and were unable to give it up, but wanted even more of it, spending billions a year to encourage and finance the invasion, all the while telling Ukrainians how good it is for them.
    Putin’s biggest mistake was to bother with the old-fashioned weapons thing. Had he looked across the EU and to Britain he would have seen that the foolproof way to conduct an invasion it is to call yourself a refugee, throw away your papers, and just walk across the border, unarmed, in your thousands. No talk of ‘invasion’ or international condemnation when you do it that way, nor any need for a fight either.

The only thing that will get the west to show a united front against Pres Putin is if the said Pres Putin orders his troops to begin a campaign of mis gendering, creating single sex toilets, not giving two Russian fucks about correct pronoun usage and shooting kiddy diddlers plus restricting the sale of inflatable watercraft. In these circumstances when the very pillars of modern western society are seen to be threatened, Biden will arrive back on Earth decree a crusade against the evil Putin and his minions.   6. Seems that the French coastguard have intercepted and impounded a cargo vessel baring the Russian flag in the English Channel.

    Apparently the Russian-owned ship carrying cars bound for St Petersburg, broke EU Sanctions Law

    A French customs patrol vessel supported by a police surveillance ship and navy patrol boat escorted the cargo ship ashore and detained all onboard.

  9. Cometh the hour, cometh the man. Zelensky has proved that he stands head and shoulders above pretty much any politician on the planet. His speech before the war started addressing the Russian people was incredible, looking to assure Russia and the world that it wanted to find a peaceful solution. Unfortunately the Russian people never got to see it because their state owned media wouldn’t broadcast it. Since Russia decided to attack, Zelensky refuses to leave Kyiv, and can be seen manning barricades with his fellow citizens. Inspirational. Even Klitschko, who I had little time for before has proved himself by refusing to disappear with his millions and stand and fight with everyone else.
    Meanwhile, the Ukrainians have played a blinder by letting forward units pass, then attack the columns of logistical support following behind, meaning tanks running out of fuel and ammunition, and soldiers running out of food. A tactic used during the battle of the Ardennes by the Germans, capturing supplies instead of carrying them, seems to have been adopted by the Russian forces, and like 1944, it’s failing miserably.
    Once tanks reach the outskirts of Kyiv they will lose the mobility that allow tanks to operate freely, and will be extremely vulnerable, even to low tech weapons like the humble Molotov.
    Fear the worst and hope for the best.

    This shite hasn’t been relevant for years. Since the influx of dooshka countries, everyone votes a certain way, and the last time I caught a few minutes of it, they seemed to have done away with the way they voted (calling up judges from different countries). That was the only thing worth watching, because the songs were shite.

    In recent years, it’s become incredibly gay and it’s full of trannies too.

    But now, they’ve surpassed themselves. They’re banning Russia from entering this year’s Eurovision Song Contest due to the invasion of the Ukraine.

    Well if that doesn’t make the massive gaylord Putin shit his pants and turn his troops around, nothing will.

If Pres Putin had just invaded the areas of Ukraine that harbour much Russian sympathy he would have got access to the Black Sea etc. I think he has been given a load of dick by brown noses in his immediate circle. Even I had figured out that the Ukrainians would fight like fuck. Think Putin thought all would be over in three, four days. Talk about underestimating and totally wrong reading of the situation prior to invasion.
    So the likely results of this action in protection of the Russian Federation, thousands of lives lost civil and military, millions of pounds worth of assets destroyed military and civilian. Russia becomes the go to bogeyman again. Fuck it all and build some nuclear power plants so we do not need to buy Russian gas unless we want to.

  20. Might be worth mentioning now that Russia has been booted out of SWIFT…

    I’ve got a few sad-geeky IT friends in Germany, Poland and Romania, who I’ve kept in contact with ever since I left the IT company I worked for back in 2017.

    They’ve been saying there’s been increased cyber-hacking activity going on in their neck of the woods. Nothing major or anything that would cause a ripple on MSM, but there’s activity all the same.

    My Polish colleagues in particular, have some pretty good software that detects hacking activity on millions of websites and portals across the world. Generally speaking most hacking activity occurs around India, China, Russia and the States, but all fairly low key.

    My Polish friends have done a trend report and hacking/DDoS activity has been spiking across central Europe over the last 4 or 5 days, and is steadily rising and spreading further westwards.

    I don’t have access to that kind of kit, and I don’t know how accurate their data is, but if even 50% is true then clearly its going to escalate fast and wide.

    You only have to imagine how difficult life will be if for example, the High Street banks were hacked in such a way that online transactions failed and you weren’t able to log on and do anything. ATMs wouldn’t work and going to the bank to withdraw money would be impossible.

    Don’t be surprised if this conflict continues that the West will get hacked big time either with DDoS and/or old school viruses/malware. Just make sure you have a good AV/AM app on all of your devices, and that your router has the latest firmware and is also shielded.

    And above all keep backups of anything important, but DON’T just shove everything up in the Cloud (such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive etc), because that will be one of the first targets for hackers!

    Keep backups on a data pen or external hard drive. Might even be worth withdrawing some old style cash from ATMs just in case online transaction services such as contactless payments are disabled.

    Be prepared, and all that.

    • There was a report on the media a few days ago some hacker group , cunts anonymous (not the real name but something like that) say they have declared war on Russia

      The main worry is with all the ‘support’ from the west the conflict could escalate, backing the bear into the corner sounds great when all the politicians are trying to outdo each other but there is a dangerous game going on.

      • Putin seems like a loose cannon, and I’m not convinced he has the full backing of the Kremlin with his actions. But of course living in a climate of Stalinesque fear always focuses the minds on any dissenting voices.

        China’s actions are going to be pivotal I think. They may have supported Russia at the outset, but I think most of the globe is almost as one in its damnation at Russia’s actions, and I don’t think China will want to get tagged with the same brush if it continues supporting Putin.

        I just hope when all this is over with and Putin is dead and buried, that we don’t go back to how things were with all the woke/green bollocks, as if nothing had happened!

    • There doesn’t seem to be much news about the Donbas, maybe the Ukrainians have given up in the east and are concentrating on securing Kiev.
      I saw a report on life in the Donbas over the last eight years, it’s a bit of a mess.

      Putin must realise by now that he has to pull back, but I guess he may be deluded in thinking he can get a victory. Getting his Grinder profile restored could be the key 👍

    The usual SM critics have claimed western media has ramped up the coverage that is rarely seen in other conflicts around the world, especially “non white” conflicts, which according to the critics on social media barely get a mention.

    They claim the coverage in Ukraine is focused too much on white Caucasians and not minority groups, which is plainly wrong!

    I suppose what Putin should have done was attack some shithole country in Africa and hope the Western Media carry the same, if not more, kind of mass coverage in order to placate the keyboard warriors!

    • JP@ – Yep, they are. The “Fearsome Russian military machine” has lousy and outdated equipment by and large (Putin has some shiny new stuff, but hasn’t done the basics) – half the soldiers don’t want to be there and the other half are getting smashed.
      Russia fights for land, Ukraine fights for existence – even Women and the elderly are getting firearms handed out and they ain’t having this.
      Every inch Russia moves forward is mired in blood – it’s like the battle of Stalingrad in reverse.
      This mess will be Putins Afghanistan.
